Abstract

A method for building a service oriented architecture industry model repository comprising: creating a meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index; pre-populating the meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index using the data from the physical asset repository and known relationships between topics, associations, and occurrences in topic maps within the meta model service; pre-populating an information model repository common meta-meta model comprising reusing a taxonomy specific to an industry vertical as a common ontology for the topic map based index; pre-populating the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository; and pre-populating models of the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository.

Claims

1. A method of building a service oriented architecture (SOA) industry model repository (IMR) comprising a meta model service associated with a physical asset repository, the meta model service comprising:

at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical included within an information model repository common meta-meta model, the information model repository common meta-meta model included within a meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index, the method comprising;

creating the meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index;

pre-populating the meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index using the data from the physical asset repository and known relationships between topics, associations, and occurrences in topic maps within the meta model service;

pre-populating an information model repository common meta-meta model comprising reusing a taxonomy specific to an industry vertical as a common ontology for the topic map based index;

pre-populating the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository; and

pre-populating models of the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein pre-populating the information model repository common meta-meta model comprises reusing the taxonomy specific to the industry vertical as the common ontology for the topic map based index is generated by a dedicated parser.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the dedicated parser reuses a selected industry upper ontology as a common ontology for the SOA IMR.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein pre-populating the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to the particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository is generated by a dedicated parser.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein pre-populating models of the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to the particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository is generated by a dedicated parser.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein pre-populating models of the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to the particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository includes data from instance and abstract models

7. A computer system for building a service oriented architecture industry model repository comprising:

a CPU, a computer readable memory, a computer readable storage media storing a plurality of computer readable memory, a plurality of a service oriented architecture (SOA) industry model repositories (IMR) comprising a meta model service associated with a physical asset repository, the meta model service comprising;

at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical included within an information model repository common meta-meta model, the information model repository common meta-meta model included within a meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index;

first program instructions for creating the meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index;

second program instructions for pre-populating the meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index using the data from the physical asset repository and known relationships between topics, associations, and occurrences in topic maps within the meta model service;

third program instructions for pre-populating an information model repository common meta-meta model comprising reusing a taxonomy specific to an industry vertical as a common ontology for the topic map based index;

fourth program instructions for pre-populating the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository; and

fifth program instructions for pre-populating models of the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository;

wherein the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth program instructions are stored on the computer readable storage media for execution by the CPU via the computer readable memory.

8. The system of claim 7, wherein in the third program instructions for pre-populating the information model repository common meta-meta model comprising reusing the taxonomy specific to the industry vertical as the common ontology for the topic map based index is generated by a dedicated parser.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the dedicated parser reuses a selected industry upper ontology as a common ontology for the SOA IMR.

10. The system of claim 7, wherein in the fourth program instructions for pre-populating the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to the particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository is generated by a dedicated parser.

11. The system of claim 7, wherein in the fifth program instructions for pre-populating models of the industry model repository topic map common meta-meta model from the federated physical model assets repository is generated by a dedicated parser.

12. The system of claim 7, wherein in the fifth program instructions for pre-populating models of the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to the particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository includes data from instance and abstract models.

13. A computer program product for a service oriented industry model repository architecture, the computer program product comprising:

a computer readable storage media, a plurality of a service oriented architecture (SOA) industry model repositories (IMR) comprising a meta model service associated with a physical asset repository, the meta model service comprising;

at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical included within an information model repository common meta-meta model, the information model repository common meta-meta model included within a meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index;

first program instructions for creating the meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index;

second program instructions for pre-populating the meta-meta-meta model with a topic map based index using the data from the physical asset repository and known relationships between topics, associations, and occurrences in topic maps within the meta model service;

third program instructions for pre-populating an information model repository common meta-meta model comprising reusing a taxonomy specific to an industry vertical as a common ontology for the topic map based index;

fourth program instructions for pre-populating the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository; and

fifth program instructions for pre-populating models of the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to a particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository;

the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth program instructions are stored on the computer readable storage media.

The computer program product of claim 13, wherein in the third program instructions for pre-populating the information model repository common meta-meta model comprising reusing the taxonomy specific to the industry vertical as the common ontology for the topic map based index is generated by a dedicated parser.

15. The computer program product of claim 14, wherein the dedicated parser reuses a selected industry upper ontology as a common ontology for the SOA IMR.

16. The computer program product of claim 13, wherein in the fourth program instructions for pre-populating the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to the particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository is generated by a dedicated parser.

17. The computer program product of claim 13, wherein in the fifth program instructions for pre-populating models of the industry model repository topic map common meta-meta model from the federated physical model assets repository is generated by a dedicated parser.

The computer program product of claim 13, wherein in the fifth program instructions for pre-populating models of the at least one topic map meta model with data specific to the particular topic or industry vertical from the physical asset repository includes data from instance and abstract models
