Abstract

A network access device and method to run a gaming application on a network access device are described. The network access device comprises a communications module configured to allow the network access device to communicate with a network. The network access device is configured to transmit user identification information to a verification system and transmit security information to a verification system. When the user identification information and security information have been verified by the verification system, the network access device receives a random game output generated by a gaming system.

21. A network access device to run a gaming application, comprising a communications module configured to allow the network access device to communicate with a network, the network access device configured to:

transmit user identification information to a verification system;

transmit security information to a verification system; and

when the user identification information and security information have been verified by the verification system, receive a random game output generated by a gaming system.

22. The network access device of claim 21, wherein the security information transmitted to the verification system comprises an IP address of the network access device.

23. The network access device of claim 21, wherein the security information transmitted to the verification system comprises a media access control identification of the network access device.

24. The network access device of claim 21, wherein the network access device is a gaming terminal.

25. The network access device of claim 24, wherein the gaming terminal is a slot machine.

26. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the network access device is a wireless handset.

27. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the network access device is a display that is operatively coupled to an interactive set-top box.

28. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the network access device is a personal computer having a network interface card.

29. A network access device to run a gaming application, comprising:

a communications module configured to allow the network access device to communicate with a network;

means for transmitting user identification information to a verification system;

means for transmitting security information to a verification system;

means for receiving a random game output generated by a gaming system; and

means for displaying the images associated with the game output.

30. The network access device of claim 29, wherein the security information transmitted to the verification system comprises an IP address of the network access device.

31. The network access device of claim 29, wherein the security information transmitted to the verification system comprises a media access control identification of the network access device.

32. The network access device of claim 29, wherein the network access device is a gaming terminal.

33. The network access device of claim 32, wherein the gaming terminal is a slot machine.

34. The network access device of claim 29, wherein the network access device is a wireless handset.

35. The network access device of claim 29, wherein the network access device is a display that is operatively coupled to an interactive set-top box.

36. The gaming system network of claim 29, wherein the network access device is a personal computer having a network interface card.

37. A method for running a gaming application on a network access device, comprising:

transmitting user identification information to a verification system;

transmitting security information to the verification system;

when the user identification information and security information are verified by the verification system;

receiving a random game output generated by a gaming system; and

displaying at least one image associated with the random game output on the network access device.

38. The method of claim 37, wherein the security information transmitted to the verification system comprises an IP address of the network access device.

39. The method of claim 37, wherein the security information transmitted to the verification system device comprises a media access control identification of the network access device.
