Abstract

The present invention provides thiazole sulfonamide and oxazole sulfonamide compounds, compositions containing the same, as well as processes for the preparation and methods for their use as pharmaceutical agents.

Claims

1. A compound of formula (I)

2. The compound according to claim 1, wherein each R¹ is the same or different and is independently selected from halo, alkyl, haloalkyl, and —

OR⁶.

3. The compound according to claim 1, wherein Ring A is phenyl, 5-6 membered heterocycle or 5-6 membered heteroaryl.

4. The compound according to claim 1, wherein each of Q¹, Q², Q³, and Q⁴ is CH or C—

R², wherein at least two of Q¹, Q², Q³, and Q⁴ are CH.

5. The compound according to claim 1, wherein each R² is the same or different and is independently halo or C_1-3alkyl.

6. The compound according to claim 1, wherein each of Q¹, Q², and Q³ is CH and Q⁴ is C—

F or C—

Cl.

16. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound according to claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent or excipient.

17. A method for treating a susceptible neoplasm in a human in need thereof, said method comprising administering to the human a therapeutically effective amount of a compound according to claim 1.

21. A process for preparing a compound according to claim 1-15, said process comprising reacting a compound of formula (VIII):

22. A process for preparing a compound according to claim 1-15 comprising reacting a compound of formula (XVIII):

26. The method according to claim 17, wherein said susceptible neoplasm is selected from melanoma and thyroid cancer.
