Abstract

The invention relates to a marine vessel (1) comprising a hull (2) and a propulsion arrangement including an internal combustion engine (3), an exhaust gas arrangement (4), and a propulsion unit (5). The marine vessel (1) further is provided with at least one vertically arranged cylinder (6) with a vertical axis, which vertically arranged cylinder (6) is adapted to rotate around its vertical axis. To avoid any substantial increase of windage area, the vertically arranged cylinder (6) is arranged around a part of the exhaust gas arrangement (4) of the marine vessel (1).

Claims

1. Marine vessel comprising a hull (2) and a propulsion arrangement including an internal combustion engine (3), an exhaust gas arrangement (4), and a propulsion unit (5), which marine vessel (1) further is provided with at least one vertically arranged cylinder (6) with a vertical axis (7), which vertically arranged cylinder is adapted to rotate around its vertical axis, characterised in that the vertically arranged cylinder (6) is arranged around a part of the exhaust gas arrangement (4) of the marine vessel (1).

2. Marine vessel according to claim 1, characterised in that the part of the exhaust gas arrangement (4) is an exhaust pipe (41), and in that the vertically arranged cylinder (6) is arranged around the exhaust pipe (41).

3. Marine vessel according to claim 2, characterised in that the vertically arranged cylinder (6) is provided with an internal support cylinder (61), which is arranged around the exhaust pipe (41).

4. Marine vessel according to claim 1, characterised in that the vertically arranged cylinder (6) is arranged to act as an exhaust pipe (41).

5. Marine vessel according to claim 1, characterised in that the exhaust gas arrangement (4) of the marine vessel (1) comprises a silencer (42), and in that the vertically arranged cylinder (6) is arranged around the silencer (42).

6. Marine vessel according to claim 1, characterised in that the vertically arranged cylinder (6) is supported by a frame (8) arranged in connection with an upper end of the vertically arranged cylinder (6).

7. Marine vessel according to claim 6, characterised in that the vertically arranged cylinder (6) is arranged to extend through the frame (8).

8. Marine vessel according to claim 6, characterised in that frame (8) has a form which directs exhaust gases from the exhaust pipe (41) in a given desired direction.

9. Marine vessel according to claim 6, characterised in that the frame (8) has a form which minimizes head wind resistance.

10. Marine vessel according to claim 6, characterised in that the frame (8) has a horizontal orientation and extends in a longitudinal direction of the marine vessel (1).
