Abstract

A method of wireless communication includes identifying one or more coexistence issues corresponding to a utilized set of communication resources of a User Equipment (UE). The method also includes communicating an indication of the coexistence issue(s) to a serving base station.

Claims

1. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

identifying at least one coexistence issue corresponding to a set of communication resources of a User Equipment (UE); and

communicating an indication of the at least one coexistence issue to a base station.

2. The method of claim 1, in which the communicating comprises communicating a static indication of multi-radio capability.

3. The method of claim 1, in which the communicating comprises communicating a dynamic message that indicates at least one of communication resources being enabled and communication resources being disabled.

4. The method of claim 1, in which the communicating comprises communicating an indication of a portion of bandwidth where substantially no coexistence issues exist.

5. The method of claim 1, in which the communicating comprises affecting at least one of uplink transmit power targets and downlink signal to interference ratio targets.

6. The method of claim 1, in which the communicating comprises communicating an indicator of at least one radio event denied by the UE due to a coexistence issue.

7. The method of claim 1, in which the communicating comprises communicating an indicator of a rate of subframe denial due to a coexistence issue.

8. The method of claim 7, in which the rate of subframe denial is for a particular transmission.

9. The method of claim 1, in which the communicating comprises communicating at least one of an interfering technology identifier, interfering direction information and a traffic pattern indicator.

10. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

receiving signaling from a served User Equipment (UE), via a radio technology, relating to coexistence issues experienced by the served UE; and

assigning at least one parameter associated with communication at the served UE, in response to the signaling, to mitigate the coexistence issues experienced by the served UE.

11. The method of claim 10, in which the signaling comprises an indication of a portion of bandwidth where there are substantially no coexistence issues, and

in which the assigning comprises scheduling the served UE on the portion of bandwidth.

12. The method of claim 10, in which the signaling comprises affecting at least one of uplink transmit power and a downlink signal to interference ratio.

13. The method of claim 10, in which the signaling comprises an indication of at least one of a denied radio event at the served UE and a metric associated with the denied radio event at the served UE due to the coexistence issues, and

in which the assigning comprises adjusting a termination threshold in a power loop or downlink rate control loop of a serving base station in response to the indication of at least one of the denied radio event and the metric.

14. The method of claim 10, in which the at least one parameter creates a gap pattern in at least one of downlink communications of the radio technology and uplink communications of the radio technology.

15. An apparatus operable in a wireless communication system, the apparatus comprising:

means for identifying at least one coexistence issue corresponding to a set of communication resources of a User Equipment (UE); and

means for communicating an indication of the at least one coexistence issue to a base station.

16. The apparatus of claim 15, in which the means for communicating comprises means for communicating an indication of a portion of bandwidth where substantially no coexistence issues exist.

17. The apparatus of claim 15, in which the means for communicating comprises means for communicating an indicator of at least one radio event that has been denied by the UE due to a coexistence issue.

18. An apparatus operable in a wireless communication system, the apparatus comprising:

means for receiving signaling from a served User Equipment (UE) relating to coexistence issues experienced by the served UE; and

means for assigning at least one parameter associated with communication at the served UE, in response to the signaling, to mitigate the coexistence issues experienced by the served UE.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, in which the signaling comprises means for affecting at least one of uplink transmit power and downlink signal to interference ratio.

20. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured;

to identify at least one coexistence issue corresponding to a set of communication resources of a User Equipment (UE); and

to communicate an indication of the at least one coexistence issue to a base station.

21. The apparatus of claim 20, in which the indication comprises a static indication of multi-radio capability.

22. The apparatus of claim 20, in which the indication comprises a dynamic message that indicates at least one of communication resources being enabled and communication resources being disabled.

23. The apparatus of claim 20, in which the indication comprises an indication of a portion of bandwidth where substantially no coexistence issues exist.

24. The apparatus of claim 20, in which the at least one processor is further configured to communicate by affecting at least one of uplink transmit power targets and downlink signal to interference ratio targets.

25. The apparatus of claim 20, in which the indicator comprises an indicator of at least one radio event denied by the UE due to a coexistence issue.

26. The apparatus of claim 20, in which the indicator comprises an indicator of a rate of subframe denial due to a coexistence issue.

27. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured;

to receive signaling from a served User Equipment (UE) relating to coexistence issues experienced by the served UE; and

to assign at least one parameter associated with communication at the served UE, in response to the signaling, to mitigate the coexistence issues experienced by the served UE.

28. The apparatus of claim 27, in which the received signaling comprises an indication of a portion of bandwidth where there are substantially no coexistence issues, and

in which the at least one processor is further configured to assign by scheduling the served UE on the portion of bandwidth.

29. The apparatus of claim 27, in which the at least one processor is further configured to signal by affecting at least one of uplink transmit power and a downlink signal to interference ratio.

30. The apparatus of claim 27, in which the received signaling indicates at least one of a radio event and a metric associated with a subframe that has been denied at the served UE due to the coexistence issues, and

in which the at least one processor is further configured to assign by adjusting a termination threshold in a power loop or downlink rate control loop of a serving base station in response to the indication of at least one of a radio event and the metric.

31. A computer program product for wireless communications in a wireless network, comprising:

a computer-readable medium having program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising;

program code to identify at least one coexistence issue corresponding to a set of communication resources of a User Equipment (UE); and

program code to communicate an indication of the at least one coexistence issue to a base station.

32. A computer program product for wireless communications in a wireless network, comprising:

a computer-readable medium having program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising;

program code to receive signaling from a served User Equipment (UE) relating to coexistence issues experienced by the served UE; and

program code to assign at least one parameter associated with communication at the served UE, in response to the signaling, to mitigate the coexistence issues experienced by the served UE.
