a processor; a communication module facilitating wireless communication; a memory for storing a plurality of application programs; an interface for facilitating selection of an application program and execution thereof by the smartphone processor, wherein one of the application programs, when executed, facilitates (i) receiving commands via the interface of the smartphone and (ii) based on the commands, issuing control signals to the controller of the drug pump device via the communication module.

18. A method of operating a smartphone-controllable drug pump device, the method comprising:

selecting an application program from a plurality of application programs stored in a memory of a smartphone; executing the application program to facilitate (i) receiving commands via an interface of the smartphone and (ii) based on the commands, issuing a control signal to the drug pump device via a wireless communication module; receiving the control signal at a receiver in the drug pump device; and adjusting operation of the device based, at least in part, on the control signal. - View Dependent Claims (19, 20)
