Abstract

Disclosed herein are a mobile terminal and a method of controlling the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal may include a radio communication interface, a storage device configured to store a content playlist, and a controller configured to update the content playlist. The controller may acquire content information corresponding at least one streaming content from on a web page accessed through the radio communication unit interface. The content information may include address information for retrieving the at least one streaming content. The controller may update the content play list to include the at least one streaming content based on the acquired content information.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal comprising:

a radio communication interface;

a display for displaying multimedia content;

a storage device configured to store a content playlist; and

a controller configured to update the content playlist, wherein

the controller acquires content information corresponding to at least one streaming content on a web page accessed through the radio communication interface by parsing the web page, the content information including address information for retrieving the at least one streaming content, and updates the content playlist to include the at least one streaming content based on the acquired content information,

wherein the controller generates a list of the at least one streaming content included in the web page and adds the streaming content to the content playlist when the streaming content is selected from the displayed list,

wherein the playlist includes at least one content stored in the storage device and the controller is configured to sequentially playback the at least one streaming content and the at least one content stored in the storage device based on the playlist, and

wherein the controller controls the display to display the web page associated with the at least one streaming content during playback.

2. A mobile terminal comprising:

a radio communication interface;

a storage device configured to store a content playlist; and

a controller configured to update the content playlist, wherein

the controller acquires content information corresponding to at least one streaming content on a web page accessed through the radio communication interface, the content information including address information for retrieving the at least one streaming content, and updates the content playlist to include the at least one streaming content based on the acquired content information.

3. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller acquires the content information by parsing the web page.

4. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller generates a list of the at least one streaming content included in the web page and adds the streaming content to the content playlist when the streaming content is selected from the displayed list.

5. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller downloads the at least one streaming content for playback on the mobile terminal based on the address information.

6. The mobile terminal of claim 5, wherein the controller acquires additional content information associated with the at least one streaming content in response to downloading the at least one streaming content and updates the content playlist to include the detailed content information.

7. The mobile terminal of claim 6, wherein the additional content information associated with the at least one streaming content includes at least one of an artist, title, album, or genre information associated with the at least one streaming content.

8. The mobile terminal of claim 5, wherein the downloaded streaming content is stored in the storage device.

9. The mobile terminal of claim 5, wherein the downloaded streaming content is buffered to be streamed and discarded after playback.

10. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the playlist includes at least one content stored in the storage device.

11. The mobile terminal of claim 10, wherein the controller is configured to sequentially playback the at least one streaming content and the at least one content stored in the storage device based on the playlist.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller periodically accesses a web page associated with the at least one streaming content included in the playlist to update the content information.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller controls a display to display the web page associated with the at least one streaming content.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the at least one streaming content is one of a streaming audio, streaming video, or streaming multimedia content.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller is configured to generate one or more keywords based on content included in the playlist and to search a plurality of web sites for streaming content using the one or more keywords.

16. A mobile terminal comprising:

a radio communication interface;

a storage device configured to store a content playlist that includes a ink to a first content stored on a remote content provider and a link to a second content stored on the storage device; and

a controller configured to playback the first and second contents included in the playlist, wherein

in response to a request to playback the first content, the controller accesses a web page corresponding to the link for the first content through the radio communication interface, downloads the first content from the web page, and plays the downloaded first content.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 16, wherein, in response to a request to playback the second content, the controller retrieves the second content from the storage device and plays the second content.

18. The mobile terminal of claim 16, wherein the controller is configured to display the web page corresponding to the first content during playback of the first content.

19. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, comprising:

accessing a web page;

acquiring content information associated with at least one streaming content on the web page, the content information including address information for the at least one streaming content; and

adding the streaming content to a content playlist based on the acquired content information.

20. The method of claim 19, further including

receiving a request to play the at least one streaming content,

accessing the web page corresponding to the address information,

downloading the streaming content from the web page, and

playing the downloaded streaming content.

21. The method of claim 19, further including

acquiring additional content information associated the downloaded streaming content during the playback;

and

updating the content playlist based on the additional content information.
