Abstract

Methods and systems for analyzing communication options, including determining one or more driving factors, being provided with one or more HMI tailoring options, and analyzing the one or more driving factors and the one or more HMI tailoring options to determine an optimum HMI tailoring option.

Claims

1. A method for tailoring a vehicle Human Machine Interface, the method comprising:

determining one or more driving factors;

being provided with one or more HMI tailoring options; and

analyzing the one or more driving factors and the one or more HMI tailoring options to determine an optimum HMI tailoring option.

2. The method of claim 1, where determining one or more driving factors comprises at least one of:

predicting one or more driving factors;

detecting one or more driving factors; and

detecting one or more upcoming driving factors.

3. The method of claim 1, where the one or more driving factors are at least one of:

environmental conditions, where the environmental conditions comprise dynamic conditions and static conditions; and

indicators of the vehicle occupants'"'"' condition, where the vehicle occupants'"'"' conditions comprise driving behavior of the driver and emotional state of the driver and passengers.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving feedback from the system or vehicle occupants regarding the efficacy of the optimum HMI tailoring option, and recording the feedback to improve the system'"'"'s ability to tailor HMI effectively.

5. The method of claim 1, where determining an optimum HMI tailoring option comprises determining and considering local legislation, including predicting changes to local legislation on the vehicle'"'"'s route due to geographic boundaries, day, time, events, and/or local conditions or activities.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

being provided with an initial emotional state of vehicle occupants corresponding to an initial set of HMI options; and

determining an optimum HMI tailoring option, the optimum HMI tailoring option corresponding to a second emotional state of the vehicle occupants, the second being an improvement of the first.

7. A system for tailoring a vehicle Human Machine Interface, the system comprising:

one or more processors;

one or more memory units coupled to the one or more processors;

the system being configured to;

detect one or more driving factors;

be provided with one or more HMI tailoring options; and

analyze the one or more driving factors and the one or more HMI tailoring options to determine an optimum HMI tailoring option.

8. The system of claim 7, where the system being configured to determine one or more driving factors comprises the system being configured to perform at least one of:

predict one or more driving factors;

detect one or more driving factors; and

detect one or more upcoming driving factors.

9. The system of claim 7, where the one or more driving factors are at least one of:

environmental conditions, where the environmental conditions comprise dynamic conditions and static conditions; and

indicators of the vehicle occupants'"'"' condition, where the vehicle occupants'"'"' conditions comprise driving behavior of the driver and emotional state of the driver and passengers.

10. The system of claim 7, the system being further configured to receive feedback from the system or vehicle occupants regarding the efficacy of the optimum HMI tailoring option, and to record the feedback to improve the system'"'"'s ability to tailor HMI effectively.

The system of claim 7, where the system being configured to determine an optimum HMI tailoring option comprises the system being configured to determine and consider local legislation, including predicting changes to local legislation on the vehicle'"'"'s route due to geographic boundaries, day, time, events, and/or local conditions or activities.

12. The system of claim 7, the system being further configured to:

be provided with an initial emotional state of vehicle occupants corresponding to an initial set of HMI options; and

determine an optimum HMI tailoring option, the optimum HMI tailoring option corresponding to a second emotional state of the vehicle occupants, the second being an improvement of the first.

13. The system of claim 7, further comprising a vehicle, the vehicle comprising the system for tailoring a vehicle Human Machine Interface.

15. The product of claim 13, where the code being effective to determine one or more driving factors comprises the code being effective to perform at least one of:

predict one or more driving factors;

detect one or more driving factors; and

detect one or more upcoming driving factors.

16. The product of claim 13, where the one or more driving factors are at least one of:

environmental conditions, where the environmental conditions comprise dynamic conditions and static conditions; and

indicators of the vehicle occupants'"'"' condition, where the vehicle occupants'"'"' conditions comprise driving behavior of the driver and emotional state of the driver and passengers.

17. The product of claim 13, the code being further effective to receive feedback from the system or vehicle occupants regarding the efficacy of the optimum HMI tailoring option, and to record the feedback to improve the system'"'"'s ability to tailor HMI effectively.

The product of claim 13, where the code being effective to determine an optimum HMI tailoring option comprises the code being effective to determine and consider local legislation, including predicting changes to local legislation on the vehicle'"'"'s route due to geographic boundaries, day, time, events, and/or local conditions or activities.

19. The product of claim 13, the code being further effective to:

be provided with an initial emotional state of vehicle occupants corresponding to an initial set of HMI options; and

determine an optimum HMI tailoring option, the optimum HMI tailoring option corresponding to a second emotional state of the vehicle occupants, the second being an improvement of the first.

14. A computer program product stored on a computer operable medium, the computer program product comprising software code being effective to:

detect one or more driving factors;

be provided with one or more HMI tailoring options; and

analyze the one or more driving factors and the one or more HMI tailoring options to determine an optimum HMI tailoring option.
