Abstract

A power supply apparatus for vehicles is provided. This apparatus includes a battery mounted on a vehicle as well as first and second power transferring means and a power conversion unit. The first power transferring means transfers power between the battery and a first power supply section placed outside the vehicle, in a state where the battery is electrically connected to the power supply section. The second power transferring means transfers power between the battery and the power supply section placed outside the vehicle, in a state where the battery is electromagnetically connected to a second power supply section. The power conversion unit is used commonly in both the first and second power transferring means and used for transferring the power between the battery and the first power supply section and for transferring the power between the battery and the second power supply section.

Claims

1. A power supply apparatus for vehicles, comprising

a battery mounted on a vehicle;

first power transferring means for transferring power between the battery and a first power supply section placed outside the vehicle, in a state where the battery is electrically connected to the power supply section;

second power transferring means for transferring power between the battery and the power supply section placed outside the vehicle, in a state where the battery is electromagnetically connected to a second power supply section; and

a power conversion unit used commonly in both the first and second power transferring means and used for transferring the power between the battery and the first power supply section and for transferring the power between the battery and the second power supply section.

2. The power supply apparatus of claim 1, wherein the power conversion unit is configured to interactively transfer the power from the battery to each of the first and second power supply sections and from each of the first and second power supply sections to the battery.

3. The power supply apparatus of claim 2, wherein the vehicle is provided with a motor section driven by power of which mode is converted from the power of the battery, and the power conversion unit is used in common to convert the mode of the power of the battery.

4. The power supply apparatus of claim 3, comprising a control section that controls operations of the first and second power transferring means, wherein

the control section comprises

first detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means is preparing for transferring the power during an operation of the second power transferring means,

stop means for stopping the operation of the second power transferring means when the first detecting means detects that the first power transferring means is preparing for the power transfer,

second detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means has electrically connected the battery and the power supply section, and

allowing means for allowing the first power transferring means to operate when the second detecting means detects the electrical connection.

5. The power supply apparatus of claim 4, wherein the control section comprises third detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means has electrically disconnected the battery from the power supply section during an operation of the first power transferring means,

means for stopping the operation of the first power transferring means when the third detecting means and for allowing the second power transferring means to operate when the third detecting means detects the electrical disconnection.

6. The power supply apparatus of claim 5, comprising a display that displays operation states of the first and second power transferring means,

wherein the control section comprises display control means for controlling the display such that the display shows which of the first or second power transferring means is in operation, depending on which of the first and second power transferring means is currently being controlled by the control section.

7. The power supply apparatus of claim 6, wherein the display is provided on a part of the vehicle.

8. The power supply apparatus of claim 1, wherein the vehicle is provided with a motor section driven by power of which mode is converted from the power of the battery, and the power conversion unit is used in common to convert the mode of the power of the battery.

9. The power supply apparatus of claim 8, comprising a control section that controls operations of the first and second power transferring means, wherein

the control section comprises

first detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means is preparing for transferring the power during an operation of the second power transferring means,

stop means for stopping the operation of the second power transferring means when the first detecting means detects that the first power transferring means is preparing for the power transfer,

second detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means has electrically connected the battery and the power supply section, and

allowing means for allowing the first power transferring means to operate when the second detecting means detects the electrical connection.

10. The power supply apparatus of claim 9, wherein the control section comprises third detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means has electrically disconnected the battery from the power supply section during an operation of the first power transferring means,

means for stopping the operation of the first power transferring means when the third detecting means and for allowing the second power transferring means to operate when the third detecting means detects the electrical disconnection.

11. The power supply apparatus of claim 10, comprising a display that displays operation states of the first and second power transferring means,

wherein the control section comprises display control means for controlling the display such that the display shows which of the first or second power transferring means is in operation, depending on which of the first and second power transferring means is currently being controlled by the control section.

12. The power supply apparatus of claim 11, wherein the display is provided on a part of the vehicle.

13. The power supply apparatus of claim 1, comprising a control section that controls operations of the first and second power transferring means, wherein

the control section comprises

first detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means is preparing for transferring the power during an operation of the second power transferring means,

stop means for stopping the operation of the second power transferring means when the first detecting means detects that the first power transferring means is preparing for the power transfer,

second detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means has electrically connected the battery and the power supply section, and

allowing means for allowing the first power transferring means to operate when the second detecting means detects the electrical connection.

14. A power supply apparatus for vehicles, comprising

a battery mounted on a vehicle;

first power transferring means for transferring power between the battery and a first power supply section placed outside the vehicle, in a state where the battery is electrically connected to the power supply section;

second power transferring means for transferring power between the battery and the power supply section placed outside the vehicle, in a state where the battery is electromagnetically connected to a second power supply section; and

a control section that controls operations of the first and second power transferring means, wherein

the control section comprises

first detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means is preparing for transferring the power during an operation of the second power transferring means,

stop means for stopping the operation of the second power transferring means when the first detecting means detects that the first power transferring means is preparing for the power transfer,

second detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means has electrically connected the battery and the power supply section, and

allowing means for allowing the first power transferring means to operate when the second detecting means detects the electrical connection

15. The power supply apparatus of claim 14, wherein the control section comprises third detecting means for detecting that the first power transferring means has electrically disconnected the battery from the power supply section during an operation of the first power transferring means,

means for stopping the operation of the first power transferring means when the third detecting means and for allowing the second power transferring means to operate when the third detecting means detects the electrical disconnection.

16. A power supply apparatus comprising:

a rectifying section that rectifies power supplied from an alternating-current (AC) power supply section;

a step up/down circuit that steps up or down voltage of the power rectified by the rectifying section so as to power a first battery via an electrical contact path to the first battery;

a primary resonance circuit that is capable of powering a second battery by generating a self-induced electromotive force from the rectified power;

a switchover relay that performs a switchover between the step up/down circuit and the primary resonance circuit;

a switching element that is arranged in common for both the step up/down circuit and the primary resonance circuit and that switches for operations of both the step up/down circuit and the primary resonance circuit; and

a control section that controls switching operations of both the switchover relay and the switching element such that the operations of both the step up/down circuit and the primary resonance circuit are controlled.

17. The power supply apparatus of claim 16, wherein

the step up/down circuit is configured to power the second battery in an electrical non-contact manner,

the apparatus comprises a power switchover relay that selectively switches powering paths from the step up/down circuit to the first battery and from the step up/down circuit to the second battery, and

the control section that controls the switching operations of both the switchover relay and the switching element such that the operations of the step up/down circuit are controlled and controls switching operations of the power switchover relay such that the power supply to the first and second batteries is controlled selectively.

18. The power supply apparatus of claim 16, comprising

a power line branched from an electric path connecting the rectifying section and the step up/down circuit and electrically connected to the second battery;

and

an on/off relay that selectively and electrically connects or disconnects the power line,

wherein the control section controls the switching operations of both the switchover relay and the switching element such that the operations of the step up/down circuit are controlled and controls operations of the on/off relay such that the power line is electrically connected to control power supply between the first battery and the second battery.

19. The power supply apparatus of claim 16, wherein

the first battery is electrically connected to the primary resonance circuit, and

the control section controls operations of the switchover relay such that the primary resonance circuit operates to allow the first battery to power the primary resonance circuit and controls operations of the switching element such that operations of the primary resonance circuit are controlled.
