Abstract

A system for mobile devices that facilitates the creation and dissemination of user interest surveys to a plurality of mobile devices and PCs/laptops that comprise a user interest survey client component. A computer or PC comprising an user interest survey generator is used to generate audio assisted user interest surveys and communicate it to a distribution server for dissemination. Recipient devices, such as PCs and Mobile devices comprise an user interest survey client component to receive and present user interest survey to a user, gather user interest information, and to send it back to the distribution server or an alternate destination.

Claims

1. A method of distributing interactive media to a plurality of users by a server, the method comprising:

storing an interactive media received by the server when it is transferred after creation by a remote PC or computer, wherein the interactive media incorporates one or more of text, audio, voice, music, video and graphics, and wherein the interactive media is associated with a sender entity;

targeting the interactive media at one or more of the plurality of users;

identifying an associated mobile device or computer for the targeted ones of the plurality of users;

distributing the interactive media to the associated mobile device or computer for the targeted ones of the plurality of users; and

providing the sender entity or the server with an opportunity to subsequently follow-up with the one or more of the plurality of users with a follow-up activity based on responses received from the one or more of the plurality of users via their corresponding mobile devices or computer.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the interactive media is a user interest survey and the associated mobile device or computer comprises a client component capable of displaying the interactive media to the corresponding one of the plurality of users, the method further comprising:

soliciting and receiving, by the client component, a user'"'"'s interest indication for each item presented in the user interest survey, and communicating it to the server; and

retrieving, from the server, the user'"'"'s interest indication for each item presented in the survey.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the interactive media comprises a list of products and services for sale, the method further comprising:

soliciting and receiving, by the client component, a user'"'"'s interest indication for each of the list of products and services, and communicating it to the server; and

retrieving the user'"'"'s interest indication for each of the list of products and services, selectively processing it and reporting back to an interested party or the sender entity.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein storing comprises:

receiving from one or more content development companies a plurality of interactive media for distribution; and

managing distribution of the plurality of interactive media to subscribers;

wherein the plurality of interactive media are each retrievable based on specific categories of interactive media associated with them, specific companies associated that are responsible for creating it, or one or more user groups identified as consumers.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein targeting comprises determining one or more of the plurality of users to be appropriate targets to the interactive media, based on user preferences available for the one or more of the plurality of users and metadata associated with the interactive media.

6. The method of claim 5 wherein the interactive media is a user interest survey.

7. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

inserting, based on a type associated with the interactive media, an appropriate associated user interest solicitation into the interactive media as it is displayed.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein targeting comprises:

matching user preferences for each of the plurality of users to a metadata associated with the interactive media.

9. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

registering by at least one of the plurality of users, specifying a preferences setting, to at least one category of interactive media.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein responses received from the one or more of the plurality of users to the interactive media comprises interest indication for each of the list of products and services presented in the interactive media.

11. The method of claim 1 wherein the interactive media comprises a user interest survey that solicits a user'"'"'s response, the method further comprising:

receiving the user'"'"'s response from at least one of the targeted ones of the plurality of users, wherein the user'"'"'s response is at least partially captured in audio form; and

communicating the user'"'"'s response to a server that is designated as the receiver of specific types of user'"'"'s response.

The method of claim 1 wherein the interactive media comprises several components, such as graphics, video content, textual content, and/or audio content, wherein these several components are selectively adapted to the individual mobile device or computer associated with each of the targeted ones of the plurality of users, to make them more appropriate for display.

13. The method of claim 9 wherein the at least one category of interactive media comprises real estate, software and popular music.

The method of claim 1 wherein the interactive media is a user interest survey that comprises multiple items, wherein each of the responses received from the one or more of the plurality of users comprises a survey feedback that also comprises a solicitation for additional information on individual items in the user interest survey that interest the corresponding user, and follow-up action requested, wherein the followup action is one of scheduling an appointment, purchase of a product or service, setting up a product or service trial and informing a corresponding seller of user'"'"'s interest or lack thereof in at least one of the multiple items.

The method of claim 1 wherein the interactive media is a user interest survey that also comprises a metadata that provides a category identification, a target profile describing a likely profile of potential targets expected to be interested in the user interest survey, security information such as source credentials source authentication information, and an optional digital signature of the user interest survey for integrity check.

16. A method of operating a downloadable client component in a mobile device, the method comprising:

receiving an interactive media that comprises multiple items wherein each of the multiple items incorporates one or more of text, audio, voice, music, video and graphics;

displaying the interactive media; and

gathering user response to the interactive media, wherein the user response comprises user inputs to at least one of the multiple items, and a user feedback associated with the whole interactive media.

17. The method of claim 16 wherein the user'"'"'s response is captured at least partially in audio form and is communicated to a server designated as the receiver of the user response.

18. The method of claim 16 further comprising:

soliciting and communicating a registration information provided by the user wherein the registration information comprises a user profile, a user preference setting comprising one or more categories of user interactive media, and related information.

19. The method of claim 16 further comprising:

soliciting and communicating a subscription information provided by the user, wherein the subscription information provides access to interactive media provided by one or more content development companies.

20. A client component for a mobile device, the client component comprising:

an usage monitoring component;

the client component requesting an interactive interest indication survey, receiving it, displaying it, soliciting user response for each of the multiple items in the interactive interest indication survey, gathering user response to the interactive interest indication survey, soliciting and collecting a feedback for the interactive interest indication survey, and communicating the user response along with the feedback to a server communicatively coupled to the mobile device; and

the usage monitoring component monitoring user requests, user response, followup actions taken and usage, and reporting it to the server periodically or when requested.
