  • a tuner; and

    digital signal processing hardware (DSPHW) communicatively coupled with the tuner, the DSPHW configured to;

    configure the tuner to tune to a primary carrier frequency,configure the tuner to tune to a secondary carrier frequency during an interval of consecutive inactive timeslots on a primary channel associated with the primary carrier frequency, anddemodulate and decode digital data transmitted over a secondary channel associated with the secondary carrier frequency.
