Abstract

A mobile device updating method and system for live data.

Claims

1. A mobile device live data versioning system, comprising:

a live data system configured to, store live data, and communicate with at least one mobile device,

wherein the communication includes at least one update to the at least one mobile device with current data,

wherein the update is in response to at least one of, a request from a mobile device, and a timed update.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the storage of live data also includes a data structure.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the live data system updates a live data application wherein the live data application has one or more live events wherein each live event displays one or more pieces of live data.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the live data application comprises a sports application and wherein each live event is a game.

5. The system of claim 3, wherein the live data application comprises a financial application and wherein each live event is a stock or options ticker.

6. The system of claim 2, wherein the data structure includes at least one of, pieces of live data, updates to the pieces of live data and sequence number associated with each live event.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein the application further comprises a java application.

8. The system of claim 2, wherein the data structure is arranged as a table.

9. The system of claim 6, wherein the storage is an SQL database that stores the one or more pieces of live data and the managed live data table.

10. The system of claim 3, wherein the live data system further comprises a managed live data record for each live event and a master live data record wherein the master live data record records a unique sequence number for each version of each piece of live data in the managed live data records for the live events.

11. The system of claim 1, wherein the communication is via wireless communication.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the wireless communication is a wireless digital data cellular link.

13. A method for sending live data versions in a live data system, the method comprising:

receiving live data;

storing live data in the live data system;

receiving updates to the live data and storing the updates as current live data;

sending the live data to at least one mobile device, and

updating the at least one mobile device with the current live data, wherein the updating is in response to at least one of,

a timer, and

a request.

14. The method of claim 13 further comprising generating a live data application wherein the live data application has one or more live events wherein each live event displays one or more pieces of live data.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the live data application comprises a sports application and wherein each live event is a game.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein the live data application comprises a financial application and wherein each live event is a stock ticker.

17. The method of claim 14 wherein the pieces of live data are arranged in a table.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the updating is updating only one or more pieces of live data.

19. The method of claim 13 wherein the storing is via an SQL database.

20. The method of claim 14 further comprising generating a managed live data record for each live event and a master live data record wherein the master live data record records a unique sequence number for each version of each piece of live data in the managed live data records for the live events.
