Abstract

A ship based cellular and satellite transceiver receives, demodulates and processes data, voice and video signals from a satellite transmitter and provides the processed signals in cascade to a OFDM and to a CDMA modulator and transmitter for transmission to a ship based mobile unit. The OFDM signal is transmitted in a Wi-Fi network and the CDMA signal is transmitted in frequency bands used by cellular phones and cellular connected devices. The ship based transceiver receives from a mobile unit, e.g. from a cellular phone or a computer an OFDM or a CDMA signal generated and transmitted by the mobile unit and receives, demodulates and processes the cellular phone transmitted signal and provides these processed signals for cascade processing, modulation and transmission to a satellite.

Claims

1. A communication method comprising steps of

receiving, demodulating and processing in a ship based transceiver, demodulator and processor a received signal, said received signal is received from a satellite, into a demodulated processed data signal and cascade processing, modulating and transmitting said processed data signal into a processed, first modulated Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) signal, for transmission of said first modulated OFDM signal in a wireless network to a mobile unit for use by a user of said mobile unit, said mobile unit is used on said ship;

receiving in said transceiver from said mobile unit a control signal for transmission control of said first modulated OFDM signal to said mobile unit, said control signal is generated by said user; and

receiving in said transceiver, from said mobile unit a received second modulated OFDM said second modulated OFDM signal is generated by said user, demodulating and processing said received second modulated OFDM signal into a processed second OFDM signal and cascade processing, modulating and transmitting said processed second OFDM signal into a third modulated signal, said third modulated signal is transmitted by said transceiver to a satellite.

The method of claim 1, further comprising a method for receiving in a multi mode operation in said transceiver a said user generated video signal and a said user generated voice signal and comprising a method for generating, and processing a motion detector generated signal into a processed motion detector generated control signal in said mobile unit and for connecting, said mobile unit by a wired and a distinct wireless connection to a television (TV) set, said mobile unit is a mobile cellular phone, said processed motion detector generated control signal is used for control of said TV set and further comprising method for said TV set to provide by a wired connection a TV set received video signal to said mobile cellular phone and further comprising a method for receiving, demodulating and processing in said transceiver a GPS satellite transmitted signal into a demodulated and processed first location finding signal and further comprising a method for receiving, demodulating and processing in said transceiver an other than GPS satellite transmitted satellite signal into a demodulated and processed second location finding signal, for use of said processed first location finding and said processed second location finding signal for location finding of said ship.

The method of claim 1, wherein said reception, demodulation and processing of said second received modulated signal is from a satellite transmitter and from a ground based transmitter and further comprising step of receiving and demodulating in said transceiver said second modulated OFDM signal into a quadrature demodulated processed OFDM signal and further comprising step of processing, modulating and transmitting in said transceiver a voice signal, into a processed voice signal, said processed voice signal is modulated in a polar non-quadrature modulator and in a quadrature modulator into a non-quadrature modulated signal and into a quadrature modulated signal, and comprising step of selection of transmission of said non-quadrature modulated signal or said quadrature modulated signal.

The method of claim 1, wherein said mobile unit comprises a method for wireless connected and for cable connected communication between a television (TV) set and said mobile unit, comprising steps of receiving and processing in a receiver of said TV set a signal transmitted by said mobile unit, said mobile unit transmitted signal is a third modulated OFDM wireless signal and an infrared (IR) signal, said third modulated OFDM wireless signal and an infrared (IR) signal is connected and processed in said TV set into a processed OFDM signal and a processed IR signal for providing said first processed cable connected said mobile unit generated signal and further comprising step of processing and transmitting in said mobile unit a video signal generated in said mobile unit and connecting said mobile unit generated signal by a cable connection to said TV set, wherein said mobile unit is a mobile device operated in a third generation (3G) cellular system and transmits cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase quadrature modulated CDMA signals and further said mobile unit comprises a method for generating and processing a camera generated signal into a processed camera generated signal and for providing method for non-quadrature modulating said camera generated signal into a non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for processing a touch screen generated signal into a touch screen generated processed control signal, said touch screen generated processed control signal is used for selection for transmission of said quadrature modulated CDMA or of said non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for fingerprint authentication of said mobile unit, said mobile unit is a cellular phone and said cellular phone receives demodulates, processes and selects location finding signals from a GPS satellite and from an other than GPS satellite and provides the selected demodulated processed GPS satellite or other than GPS satellite demodulated location finder signal to an interface unit of said cellular phone, for user of said cellular phone.

The method of claim 1, wherein said transceiver comprises a method for providing said processed data signal for processing, modulating and transmitting said processed data signal into a processed cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature phase signal and a quadrature modulated CDMA signal, for transmission of said cross-correlated modulated CDMA signal in a cellular system to said user and further comprising method for processing, modulating and transmitting said processed data signal into a processed baseband signal and a modulated TDMA signal, for transmission of said modulated TDMA signal in a cellular system to said mobile unit for use by said user, wherein said TDMA modulated signal is a non-quadrature modulated signal.

The method of claim 1, wherein demodulating and processing said second received modulated signal into a received, demodulated and processed data signal and providing said processed data signal to said transceiver for processing, modulating and transmitting said processed data signal into a processed and first modulated OFDM signal comprises cascade operation in a sequence for multimode receiving, demodulating processing and modulating said second received modulated signal and further comprising a method for generating in said mobile unit a video signal and connecting said mobile unit generated video signal by a wired connection to a television (TV) set, wherein said mobile unit is a cellular phone, further comprising a method for receiving in a multi mode operation in said transceiver a said user generated video signal and a said user generated voice signal and comprising a method for generating and processing a motion detector generated signal into a processed motion detector generated control signal in said mobile unit and for connecting said mobile unit by a wired and a distinct wireless connection to a television (TV) set, said mobile unit is a mobile cellular phone, said processed motion detector generated control signal is used for control of said TV set and further comprising method for said TV set to provide by a wired connection a TV set received video signal to said mobile cellular phone.

7. A communication method comprising steps of:

receiving, demodulating and processing in a transceiver a received signal, said transceiver is located in a ship or on a ship, said received signal is received from a satellite, into a demodulated processed data signal and cascade processing, modulating and transmitting said processed data signal into a processed first modulated Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) signal, for transmission of said first modulated CDMA signal to a mobile unit for use by a user of said mobile unit;

receiving in said transceiver from said mobile unit a control signal for transmission control of said first modulated CDMA signal to said user; and

receiving in said transceiver, from said mobile unit a received second modulated CDMA signal, said second modulated CDMA signal is generated by said user, demodulating and processing said received second modulated CDMA signal into a processed second CDMA signal for cascade processing, modulating and transmitting said processed second CDMA signal into a third modulated signal, said third modulated signal is transmitted by said transceiver to a satellite.

The method of claim 7, further comprising a method for touch screen control of operation of said mobile unit, said mobile unit is located on a ship, and method for fingerprint authentication of said mobile unit and further comprising method for cascade processing a Time Constrained Signal and Long Response Filtered cross-correlated camera generated signal and comprising a method for generating in said mobile unit a video signal and connecting said mobile unit generated video signal by a cable connection to a television (TV) set, wherein said mobile unit is a cellular phone or an other portable mobile device and further comprising method for generating and processing in said mobile unit a camera generated signal into a processed camera generated signal and for providing method for non-quadrature modulating said camera generated signal into a non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for processing a touch screen generated signal into a touch screen generated processed control signal, said touch screen generated processed control signal is used for selection for transmission of said quadrature modulated CDMA or of said non-quadrature modulated and said cellular phone receives demodulates, processes and selects location finding signals from a GPS satellite and from an other satellite than GPS satellite and provides the selected demodulated processed GPS satellite or other than GPS satellite demodulated location finder signal to an interface unit of said cellular phone, for user of said cellular phone, said cascade processing is a serial cascade processing.

The method of claim 7, further comprising a method for generating, processing and modulating a baseband video signal in said mobile unit into an in-phase and quadrature-phase processed cross-correlated signal and quadrature modulating said cross-correlated video signal in a quadrature modulator and processing said baseband video signal into a processed non-quadrature baseband signal and non-quadrature modulating in a polar non-quadrature modulator said processed non-quadrature baseband signal and generating in said mobile unit a fingerprint authentication signal for authorized use of said mobile unit and generating and processing in said mobile unit a touch screen generated control signal for selection of said quadrature modulated or non-quadrature modulated video signal and further comprising a method for receiving, demodulating and processing in said transceiver a GPS satellite transmitted signal into a demodulated and processed first location finding signal and further comprising a method for receiving, demodulating and processing in said transceiver an other than GPS satellite transmitted satellite signal into a demodulated and processed second location finding signal, for use of said processed first location finding and said processed second location finding signal for location finding of said ship.

The method of claim 7, further comprising a method for generating and processing a motion detector generated signal into a processed motion detector generated control signal in said mobile unit and for connecting said mobile unit by a wired and a distinct wireless connection to a television (TV) set, said mobile unit is a mobile cellular phone, said processed motion detector generated control signal is used for control of said TV set and further comprising method for said TV set to provide by a wired connection a TV set received video signal to said mobile cellular phone and further comprising a method for generating and processing a motion detector generated signal into a processed motion detector generated control signal in said mobile unit and for connecting said mobile unit by a wired and a distinct wireless connection to a television (TV) set, said mobile unit is a mobile cellular phone, said processed motion detector generated control signal is used for control of said TV set and further comprising method for said TV set to provide by a wired connection a TV set received video signal to said mobile cellular phone.

The method of claim 7, wherein said mobile unit generates a camera generated signal and combines said camera generated signal with said location finder processed baseband signal and processes a combined camera generated signal with said location finder signal into a combined baseband signal and provides said combined baseband signal to a non-quadrature and to a quadrature-modulator for modulation and transmission of said combined baseband signal.

The method of claim 7, further comprising a method for generating an infrared (IR) signal in said mobile unit, said IR signal is used for control of a television (TV) set, said mobile unit is a cellular phone and a method for connecting by a wired connection said cellular phone to said TV set for a wired connection of a camera generated signal in said cellular phone to said TV set and a method for generating in said TV set an OFDM signal and providing said TV generated OFDM signal wirelessly to said cellular phone.

13. A communication method comprising steps of:

receiving, demodulating and processing in a transceiver a received Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) or a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) modulated voice signal, said transceiver is located in a ship or on a ship, or in a boat or on a boat, said received modulated voice signal is generated by a user of a mobile unit, said user of said mobile unit and said mobile unit is in said ship, or on said ship, or in said boat or on said boat, into a received, demodulated processed baseband voice signal and providing said processed baseband voice signal for processing modulation and transmission of said processed baseband voice signal into a cascade processed and modulated transmitted voice signal, said cascade processed modulated transmitted voice signal is transmitted to a satellite;

receiving and demodulating in said transceiver, from said mobile unit, a received Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) modulated data signal into a received, demodulated processed baseband data signal, said received modulated data signal is generated by said mobile user for processing, modulation and transmission of said processed baseband data signal into a cascade processed and modulated transmitted data signal, said modulated transmitted data signal is transmitted to a satellite; and

receiving and demodulating in said transceiver, from said mobile unit, a received modulated control signal into a received, demodulated processed baseband control signal, said processed baseband control signal is used for control of said transceiver, said control signal is generated by said user.

The method of claim 13, further comprising a method for generating, processing and modulating a baseband video signal in said mobile unit into an in-phase and quadrature-phase processed cross-correlated signal and quadrature modulating said cross-correlated video signal in a quadrature modulator and processing said baseband video signal into a processed non-quadrature baseband signal and non-quadrature modulating in a polar non-quadrature modulator said processed non-quadrature baseband signal and generating in said mobile unit a fingerprint authentication signal for authorized use of said mobile unit and generating and processing in said mobile unit a touch screen generated control signal for selection of said quadrature modulated or non-quadrature modulated video signal and further comprising a method for generating and processing a motion detector generated signal into a processed motion detector generated control signal in said mobile unit and for connecting said mobile unit by a wired and a distinct wireless connection to a television (TV) set, said mobile unit is a mobile cellular phone, said processed motion detector generated control signal is used for control of said TV set and further comprising method for said TV set to provide by a wired connection a TV set received video signal to said mobile cellular phone.

The method of claim 13, wherein said mobile unit comprises a method for wireless connected and for cable connected communication between a television (TV) set and said mobile unit, comprises steps of receiving and processing in a receiver of said TV set a signal transmitted by said mobile unit, said mobile unit transmitted signal is in said TV set is a modulated OFDM wireless signal and an infrared (IR) signal, said modulated OFDM wireless signal transmitted to said TV set and an infrared (IR) signal is connected and processed in said TV set into a processed OFDM signal and a processed IR signal for providing said first processed cable connected said mobile unit generated signal and further comprising step of processing and transmitting in said mobile unit a video signal generated in said mobile unit and connecting said mobile unit generated signal by a cable connection to said TV set, wherein said mobile unit is a mobile device operated in a third generation (3G) cellular system and transmits cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase quadrature modulated CDMA signals and further said mobile unit comprises a method for generating and processing a camera generated signal into a processed camera generated signal and for providing method for non-quadrature modulating said camera generated signal into a non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for processing a touch screen generated signal into a touch screen generated processed control signal, said touch screen generated processed control signal is used for selection for transmission of said quadrature modulated CDMA or of said non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for fingerprint authentication of said mobile unit, said mobile unit is a cellular phone.

The method of claim 13, further comprising a method for generating, processing and modulating a baseband video signal in said mobile unit into an in-phase and quadrature-phase processed cross-correlated signal and quadrature modulating said cross-correlated video signal in a quadrature modulator and processing said baseband video signal into a processed non-quadrature baseband signal and non-quadrature modulating in a polar non-quadrature modulator said processed non-quadrature baseband signal and generating in said mobile unit a fingerprint authentication signal for authorized use of said mobile unit and generating and processing in said mobile unit a touch screen generated control signal for selection of said quadrature modulated or non-quadrature modulated video signal and further comprising steps of receiving and processing in a receiver of a television (TV) set a signal transmitted by said mobile unit, said mobile unit transmitted signal is a modulated OFDM wireless signal and an infrared (IR) signal, said modulated OFDM wireless signal and an infrared (IR) signal is connected and processed in said TV set into a processed OFDM signal and a processed IR signal for providing said first processed cable connected said mobile unit generated signal and further comprising step of processing and transmitting in said mobile unit a video signal generated in said mobile unit and connecting said mobile unit generated signal by a cable connection to said TV set, wherein said mobile unit is a mobile device operated in a third generation (3G) cellular system and transmits cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase quadrature modulated CDMA signals and further said mobile unit comprises a method for generating and processing a camera generated signal into a processed camera generated signal and for providing method for non-quadrature modulating said camera generated signal into a non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for processing a touch screen generated signal into a touch screen generated processed control signal, said touch screen generated processed control signal is used for selection for transmission of said quadrature modulated CDMA or of said non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for fingerprint authentication of said mobile unit, said mobile unit is a cellular phone.

17. The method of claim 13, wherein said mobile unit comprises a video camera for generation of a video signal and processing, modulating and transmitting said video signal into a cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase transmitter filter filtered quadrature modulated transmitted signal and into a non-quadrature polar modulated signal transmitter signal and further comprising in said transceiver a quadrature demodulator and receiver filter for receiving and demodulating said quadrature modulated video signal, wherein said receiver filter is mis-matched to said transmitter filter and further comprising a method for receiving, demodulating and processing in said transceiver a GPS satellite transmitted signal into a demodulated and processed first location finding signal and further comprising a method for receiving, demodulating and processing in said transceiver an other than GPS satellite transmitted satellite signal into a demodulated and processed second location finding signal, for use of said processed first location finding and said processed second location finding signal for location finding of said ship or of a boat.

The method of claim 13, further comprising a method for generating, processing and modulating and transmitting a motion detector generated baseband signal into a processed in-phase and a quadrature-phase baseband signal, said processed in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signal having the property of whenever the in-phase signal has its maximum amplitude, the quadrature-phase signal has zero value and when the in-phase signal has a local maximum the quadrature-phase signal has a local minimum and modulating said processed in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband signal in a quadrature modulator into a quadrature modulated signal and transmitting said processed in-phase and quadrature-phase baseband quadrature modulated signal to said transceiver, said motion detector is in said mobile unit and further comprising a method for receiving, demodulating and processing in said transceiver a GPS satellite transmitted signal into a demodulated and processed first location finding signal and further comprising a method for receiving, demodulating and processing in said transceiver a ground based base station transmitted signal into a demodulated and processed second location finding signal, for use of said processed first location finding and said processed second location finding signal for location finding of said ship or of a boat.

19. A communication method comprising steps of:

receiving, demodulating and processing, in a ship based transceiver, a satellite transmitted television (TV) signal into a received, demodulated and processed baseband TV signal;

processing said processed baseband TV signal into a processed first digital Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) or Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) baseband signal;

modulating said processed first digital OFDM or CDMA baseband signal in a first modulator into a first OFDM or first CDMA modulated signal and transmitting in a first transmitter said first OFDM or first CDMA modulated signal wirelessly to a user of a mobile unit, for said user viewing said satellite transmitted TV signal on said mobile unit;

receiving and demodulating in said transceiver a second OFDM or second CDMA modulated signal into a second digital OFDM or CDMA baseband signal, said second OFDM or second CDMA modulated signal is received by an antenna of said transceiver from said mobile unit and said second OFDM and said second CDMA modulated signal is generated by said mobile user;

processing and modulating in a second modulator said second digital OFDM or CDMA baseband signal into a processed, third modulated signal, said second modulator is in said transceiver;

transmitting in a second transmitter said third modulated signal to a satellite, said second transmitter is in said transceiver; and

receiving in said transceiver a control signal, for controlling selection of said transceiver transmitting of said first OFDM or of said first CDMA modulated signal and for controlling selection of receiving of said transceiver of said second OFDM or of said second CDMA modulated signal, said control signal is generated in said mobile unit by said mobile user.

The method of claim 19, wherein said mobile unit further comprises a method for wireless connected and for cable connected communication between a television (TV) set and said mobile unit, comprising steps of receiving and processing in a receiver of said TV set a signal transmitted by said mobile unit, said mobile unit transmitted signal is a modulated OFDM wireless signal and an infrared (IR) signal, said modulated OFDM wireless signal and said infrared (IR) signal is connected and processed to said TV set into a processed OFDM signal and a processed IR signal and for providing said processed cable connected said mobile unit generated signal and further comprising step of processing and transmitting in said mobile unit a video signal generated in said mobile unit and connecting said mobile unit generated signal by a cable connection to said TV set, wherein said mobile unit is a mobile device operated in a third generation (3G) cellular system and transmits cross-correlated in-phase and quadrature-phase quadrature modulated CDMA signals and further said mobile unit comprises a method for generating and processing a camera generated signal into a processed camera generated signal and for providing method for non-quadrature modulating said camera generated signal into a non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for processing a touch screen generated signal into a touch screen generated processed control signal, said touch screen generated processed control signal is used for selection for transmission of said quadrature modulated CDMA or of said non-quadrature modulated TDMA signal and said mobile unit comprises a method for fingerprint authentication of said mobile unit, said mobile unit is a cellular phone and said cellular phone receives demodulates, processes and selects location finding signals from a GPS satellite and from an other satellite than GPS satellite and provides the selected demodulated processed GPS satellite or other than GPS satellite demodulated location finder signal to an interface unit of said cellular phone, for use by user of said cellular phone.
