1. A communication method comprising steps ofreceiving, demodulating and processing in a ship based transceiver, demodulator and processor a received signal, said received signal is received from a satellite, into a demodulated processed data signal and cascade processing, modulating and transmitting said processed data signal into a processed, first modulated Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) signal, for transmission of said first modulated OFDM signal in a wireless network to a mobile unit for use by a user of said mobile unit, said mobile unit is used on said ship;
- receiving in said transceiver from said mobile unit a control signal for transmission control of said first modulated OFDM signal to said mobile unit, said control signal is generated by said user; and
receiving in said transceiver, from said mobile unit a received second modulated OFDM said second modulated OFDM signal is generated by said user, demodulating and processing said received second modulated OFDM signal into a processed second OFDM signal and cascade processing, modulating and transmitting said processed second OFDM signal into a third modulated signal, said third modulated signal is transmitted by said transceiver to a satellite.

Abstract
A ship based cellular and satellite transceiver receives, demodulates and processes data, voice and video signals from a satellite transmitter and provides the processed signals in cascade to a OFDM and to a CDMA modulator and transmitter for transmission to a ship based mobile unit. The OFDM signal is transmitted in a Wi-Fi network and the CDMA signal is transmitted in frequency bands used by cellular phones and cellular connected devices. The ship based transceiver receives from a mobile unit, e.g. from a cellular phone or a computer an OFDM or a CDMA signal generated and transmitted by the mobile unit and receives, demodulates and processes the cellular phone transmitted signal and provides these processed signals for cascade processing, modulation and transmission to a satellite.

receiving, demodulating and processing, in a ship based transceiver, a satellite transmitted television (TV) signal into a received, demodulated and processed baseband TV signal; processing said processed baseband TV signal into a processed first digital Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) or Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) baseband signal; modulating said processed first digital OFDM or CDMA baseband signal in a first modulator into a first OFDM or first CDMA modulated signal and transmitting in a first transmitter said first OFDM or first CDMA modulated signal wirelessly to a user of a mobile unit, for said user viewing said satellite transmitted TV signal on said mobile unit; receiving and demodulating in said transceiver a second OFDM or second CDMA modulated signal into a second digital OFDM or CDMA baseband signal, said second OFDM or second CDMA modulated signal is received by an antenna of said transceiver from said mobile unit and said second OFDM and said second CDMA modulated signal is generated by said mobile user; processing and modulating in a second modulator said second digital OFDM or CDMA baseband signal into a processed, third modulated signal, said second modulator is in said transceiver; transmitting in a second transmitter said third modulated signal to a satellite, said second transmitter is in said transceiver; and receiving in said transceiver a control signal, for controlling selection of said transceiver transmitting of said first OFDM or of said first CDMA modulated signal and for controlling selection of receiving of said transceiver of said second OFDM or of said second CDMA modulated signal, said control signal is generated in said mobile unit by said mobile user. - View Dependent Claims (20)
