Abstract

A mobile terminal including a display unit configured to display information; a touch layer configured to sense a touch input with respect to the display unit; a controller cooperating with the display unit and the touch layer and configured to: sense a touch input onto the display unit after the display unit displays the information, set a region of the display unit that includes a portion corresponding to the sensed touch input, and display on the display unit one or more graphical images corresponding to one or more selectable functions related to one or more contents displayed in the region. Further, the one or more selectable functions are matched to the corresponding one or more graphical images.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal, comprising:

a display unit configured to display information;

a touch layer configured to sense a touch input with respect to the display unit;

a controller cooperating with the display unit and the touch layer and configured to;

sense a touch input onto the display unit after the display unit displays the information,

set a region of the display unit that includes a portion corresponding to the sensed touch input, and

display on the display unit one or more graphical images corresponding to one or more selectable functions related to one or more contents displayed in the region,

wherein the one or more selectable functions are matched to the corresponding one or more graphical images.

2. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to automatically magnify without user intervention the one or more contents displayed in the region before displaying the one or more graphical images on the display unit.

3. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller is further configured to display a magnification window on the display unit in response to the sensed touch input for setting the region, and to display the magnified one or more contents in the magnification window.

4. The mobile terminal of claim 3, wherein one of the one or more functions is a transmission function, and

wherein the controller is further configured to transmit information related to the one or more contents displayed in the magnification window to at least one other terminal based on a user'"'"'s selection through another touch input.

The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to display an input window for receiving identifying information of the at least one other terminal on the display unit, and to transmit the information related to the one or more contents to the at least one other terminal.

6. The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein when the one or more contents are text, the controller is further configured to transmit the information related to the one or more contents to the at least one other terminal in the form of a text or an image.

7. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller is further configured to only magnify the one or more contents within the region in a document reading mode for reading a document stored in a memory or the internet.

8. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the one or more functions is at least one of a transmission function, a storage function and a magnification function.

9. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to receive a selection input selecting one of the graphical images displayed on the display unit, and to execute one of the one or more functions corresponding to the selected graphical image.

10. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the controller is further configured to display a result related to the executed function on the display unit.

The mobile terminal of claim 3, wherein the controller is further configured to move the magnification window based on a dragging operation input on the display unit, and to move the information displayed on the display unit in an opposite direction of the moving magnification window based on the dragging operation being continuously performed in relation with a boundary portion of the display unit.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein a size of the magnification window is changeable based on a touch input corresponding to the dragging operation being input around the boundary portion of the display unit.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is further configured to stop displaying the magnification window on the display unit if the information displayed on the touch screen is moved.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein a position of the region is changed based on a touch input corresponding to the dragging operation input on the display unit.

15. The method of claim 11, wherein as the magnification window is dragged past the edge of the display unit, the controller is further configured to increase the scrolling speed of the information displayed on the display unit.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 3, wherein the controller is further configured not to magnify other information displayed outside of the magnification window.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 3, wherein the controller is further configured to display the magnification window on a different position of the display unit than the set region.

18. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

displaying, via a display unit of the mobile terminal, information;

sensing, via a touch layer of the mobile terminal, a touch input with respect to the display unit;

sensing, via a controller of the mobile terminal, a touch input onto the display unit after the display unit displays the information;

setting, via the controller, a region of the display unit that includes a portion corresponding to the sensed touch input; and

displaying, via the display unit, one or more graphical images corresponding to one or more selectable functions related to one or more contents displayed in the region,

wherein the one or more selectable functions are matched to the corresponding one or more graphical images.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising:

automatically magnifying without user intervention, via the controller, the one or more contents displayed in the region before displaying the one or more graphical images on the display unit.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising:

displaying a magnification window on the display unit in response to the sensed touch input for setting the region; and

displaying the magnified one or more contents in the magnification window.
