Abstract

A gaming system wherein a second game is triggered once a specific event occurs in a first game.

Claims

1. A gaming machine system comprising:

a plurality of gaming machines, each being (i) configurable to facilitate play of a first game and (ii) linkable to an interactive sign; and

a device connectable to the plurality of gaming machines and configurable to facilitate play of a second game on the interactive sign after triggering of a bonusing event by one of the plurality of gaming machines during play of the first game.

2. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the device is configurable to play the second game on the interactive sign on behalf of a bonusing event triggering player.

3. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the device is configurable to facilitate the play of the second game by a bonusing event triggering player.

4. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein a bonusing event triggering player competes against a computer.

5. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein a player of the one gaming machine operates the second game on the interactive sign from the one gaming machine.

6. The gaming machine system of claim 1, further comprising a bonus machine (i) linkable to the interactive sign and (ii) configurable to facilitate play of the second game on the interactive sign.

7. The gaming machine system of claim 6, wherein upon triggering the bonusing event, a player of the one gaming machine can access the bonus machine for playing the second game on the interactive sign.

8. The gaming machine system of claim 1, further comprising a system for alerting at least one player of the first game to play the second game on said interactive sign.

9. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the bonusing event is triggered based upon symbols appearing on the one gaming machine.

10. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the bonusing event is triggered based upon an amount of money played on the plurality of gaming machines.

11. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein a bonus award won during play of the second game is supplemental to an original award won during play of the first game.

12. The gaming machine system of claim 11, wherein the bonus award is generated from a percentage of money played on the plurality of gaming machines.

13. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the second game includes a depiction of a wheel segmented into monetary denominations.

14. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the second game includes a depiction of a wheel for unloading coins.

15. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the interactive sign is spaced apart from the plurality of gaming machines.

16. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the second game includes a digital Monopoly game.

23. The gaming machine system of claim 1, wherein the interactive sign includes a video display.

24. The gaming machine system of claim 23, wherein the video display is a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD).

25. The gaming machine system of claim 1, further comprising a video capture device configurable to capture video images of a player of one of the plurality of gaming machines during play of the second game,

wherein the interactive sign is configurable to display the captured video images.

17. A gaming machine system, comprising:

first and second gaming machines linkable to an interactive sign, each machine being configured to facilitate play of respective first games; and

a device connectable to the first and second gaming machines and configured to facilitate play of a bonus game on the interactive sign after triggering of a bonusing event during play of the first game.

18. The gaming machine system of claim 17, wherein the first gaming machine includes an interface configurable to provide a player of the first gaming machine control during play of the second game.

21. The gaming machine system of claim 17, wherein each of the first games is played independent of the other first games.

22. The gaming machine system of claim 17, wherein each of the first games is an individual iteration of a same game.

19. A first gaming machine configured for linking with an interactive sign, the first gaming machine comprising:

an interface configured to facilitate linking between the first gaming machine and one or more other gaming machines, the other gaming machines being linkable to the interactive sign;

wherein the first gaming machine is configured to (i) facilitate play of a first game by a first player and (ii) facilitate play of a second game on the interactive sign by the first player;

wherein the second game occurs after triggering of a bonusing event during play of the first game; and

wherein, during the second game, the first player competes against at least one from the group including (i) a computer controlling the interactive sign and (ii) another player playing the second game via one of the other gaming machines.

20. An interactive sign, comprising:

an interface configured to facilitate linking between the interactive sign and at least two gaming machines;

wherein a first of the gaming machines is configured to (i) facilitate play of a first game by a first player and (ii) facilitate play of a second game on the interactive sign by the first player;

wherein the second game occurs after triggering of a bonusing event during play of the first game; and

wherein, during the second game, the first player competes against at least one from the group including (i) a computer controlling the interactive sign and (ii) another player playing the second game via a second of the gaming machines.
