SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF VIRTUAL WORLDS ACCESS
First Claim
1. A method of interoperating between two-dimensional and three-dimensional representations of a virtual world, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a client computer, a request for access to a virtual world, the request indicating a location in the virtual world to be accessed;
determining that a two-dimensional representation of the virtual world should be served to the client computer, based on content of the received request for access; and
transmitting, to the client computer, two-dimensional content representing the virtual world, the two-dimensional content comprising an indicator configured to cause the client computer to invoke a virtual world browser configured to process three-dimensional content, the indicator further configured to cause the virtual world browser to access a location in the virtual world corresponding to the location in the virtual world indicated in the received request for access.

Abstract
Systems and methods of virtual world interaction, operation, implementation, instantiation, creation, and other functions related to virtual worlds (note that where the term “virtual world” is used herein, it is to be understood as referring to virtual world systems, virtual environments reflecting real, simulated, fantasy, or other structures, and includes information systems that utilize interaction within a 3D environment). Various embodiments facilitate interoperation between and within virtual worlds, and may provide consistent structures for operating virtual worlds. The disclosed embodiments may further enable individuals to build new virtual worlds within a framework, and allow third party users to better interact with those worlds.

7. A computer system configured to interoperate between two-dimensional and three-dimensional representations of a virtual world, the computer system comprising:
-
computer-readable storage having stored thereon a plurality of modules implemented as executable instructions; one or more computer processors configured to execute the plurality of modules; a request processing module configured to receive, from a client computer, a request for access to a virtual world, the request indicating a location in the virtual world to be accessed; a dimensionality assessment module configured to determine that a two-dimensional representation of the virtual world should be served to the client computer, based on content of the received request for access; and a two-dimensional content module configured to transmit, to the client computer, two-dimensional content representing the virtual world, the two-dimensional content comprising an indicator configured to cause the client computer to invoke a virtual world browser configured to process three-dimensional content, the indicator further configured to cause the virtual world browser to access a location in the virtual world corresponding to the location in the virtual world indicated in the received request for access.
