Abstract

The invention enables users to virtually attach information to situations in the real world, and also enables users to quickly and easily find out desired information. An IR sensor receives an IR signal transmitted from an IR beacon, and supplies the received signal to a sub-notebook PC. A CCD video camera takes in a visual ID from an object, and supplies the inputted visual ID to the sub-notebook PC. A user inputs, through a microphone, a voice to be attached to situations in the real world. The sub-notebook PC transmits position data, object data and voice data, which have been supplied to it, to a server through a communication unit. The transmitted data is received by the server via a wireless LAN. The server stores the received voice data in a database in correspondence to the position data and the object data.

Claims

1. A computer readable medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause at least one processor in an information processing system to:

receive, from a first information processing apparatus, first attachment information corresponding to a first position of a map on the internet, the first information processing apparatus having an internet interface operated by a user that inputs the first attachment information into the internet interface; and

transmit the first attachment information to a second information processing apparatus configured to display at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position and the first attachment information,

wherein the first attachment information is provided on at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position for exchange between at least two different user devices.

2. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein attachment information includes unshared information displayed to a first user and shared information providing to a plurality of different users.

3. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the first attachment information is displayed with a time indicator indicative of at least one of a date and a time.

4. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the first attachment information includes at least one of a uniform resource locator, a link for on-line shopping, an image captured by a camera in the first information processing device, and advertisement information.

5. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the first attachment information includes a photograph and a text.

6. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the first attachment information includes information relating to at least one of a distance and a direction between a current position of the second information processing apparatus and an establishment located at the first position.

7. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the first attachment information is displayed on at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position in response to a search field entry received via an input device.

8. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the information processing system to:

transmit to the second information processing apparatus at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position;

receive from the second information processing apparatus second attachment information corresponding to the first position; and

store the second attachment information corresponding to the first position in the storage device.

9. The computer readable medium of claim 1, wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the information processing system to:

receive information indicative of a second position corresponding to a drag and drop operation of the first attachment information performed on at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position; and

transmit at least a portion of the map on the internet including the second position and the first attached information to the second information processing apparatus configured to display at least the portion of the map on the internet including the second position and the first attached information.

10. A computer readable medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause at least one processor in an information processing apparatus to:

receive at least a portion of a map on the internet including a first position;

receive, from a first information processing apparatus, first attachment information corresponding to the first position, the first information processing apparatus receiving the first attachment information from a second information processing apparatus having an internet interface operated by a user that inputs the first attachment information into the internet interface; and

control a display device to display at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position and the first attachment information,

wherein the first attachment information is provided on at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position for exchange between at least two different user devices.

11. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the first attachment information is displayed as an icon.

12. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein attachment information includes unshared information displayed to a first user and shared information providing to a plurality of different users.

13. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the internet interface includes a first area that varies corresponding to a change in a physical position of the information processing apparatus and a second area that includes a change in a physical position of the information processing apparatus.

14. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the first attachment information is displayed with a time indicator indicative of at least one of a date and a time.

15. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the first position is detected by a global positioning system.

16. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the first attachment information includes at least one of a uniform resource locator, a link for on-line shopping, and advertisement information.

17. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the first attachment information includes a photograph and a text.

18. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the first attachment information includes an image captured by a camera in the information processing device.

19. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the first attachment information includes information relating to at least one of a distance and a direction between a current position of the information processing apparatus and an establishment located at the first position.

20. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the internet interface is a world wide web interface.

21. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the information processing apparatus provides a second internet interface that is used by a second user.

22. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the first attachment information is displayed on at least the portion of the map including the first position in response to a search field entry received via the input device.

23. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the information processing apparatus to:

start an application for displaying at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position and the first attachment information.

24. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the information processing apparatus to:

receive from the first information processing apparatus at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position.

25. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the information processing apparatus to:

receive second attachment information corresponding to the first position; and

transmit the second attachment information corresponding to the first position.

26. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the information processing apparatus to:

receive information indicative of a second position corresponding to a drag and drop operation of the first attachment information performed on at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position; and

transmit information indicative of the second position to the first information processing apparatus.

27. The computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the information processing apparatus to:

receive a request corresponding to the first position; and

transmit the request corresponding to the first position.

28. An information processing apparatus comprising:

at least one processor; and

a memory device storing instructions which when executed by the at least one processor cause the information processing apparatus to;

receive, from a first information processing apparatus, first attachment information corresponding to a first position of a map on the internet, the first information processing apparatus having an internet interface operated by a user that inputs the first attachment information into the internet interface; and

transmit the first attachment information to a second information processing apparatus configured to display at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position and the first attachment information,

wherein the first attachment information is provided on at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position for exchange between at least two different user devices.

29. An information processing apparatus comprising:

at least one processor; and

a memory device storing instructions which when executed by the at least one processor cause the information processing apparatus to;

receive at least a portion of a map on the internet including a first position;

receive, from a first information processing apparatus, first attachment information corresponding to the first position, the first information processing apparatus receiving the first attachment information from a second information processing apparatus having an internet interface operated by a user that inputs the first attachment information into the internet interface; and

control a display device to display at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position and the first attachment information,

wherein the first attachment information is provided on at least the portion of the map on the internet including the first position for exchange between at least two different user devices.

30. The information processing apparatus of claim 29, further comprising:

a display device;

an input device; and

a communication device.
