Abstract

Provided is a novel heterocyclic compound which can be used in a light-emitting layer of a light-emitting element as a host material in which a light-emitting substance is dispersed. A heterocyclic compound represented by a general formula (G1) is provided. Any one of R¹ to R¹⁰ represents a substituent represented by a general formula (G1-1), another one of R¹ to R¹⁰ represents a substituent represented by a general formula (G1-2), and the others separately represent hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group. Further, α¹ and α² separately represent a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene group or a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyldiyl group, and A¹ and A² separately represent a substituted or unsubstituted carbazolyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted dibenzothiophenyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted dibenzofuranyl group.

9. A light-emitting device comprising:

a pair of electrodes; and

a light-emitting layer containing an organic compound between the pair of electrodes,

wherein the organic compound is represented by a formula (G1);

10. The light-emitting device according to claim 9, wherein the light-emitting layer further comprises a light-emitting substance.

11. The light-emitting device according to claim 10, wherein the light-emitting substance is a phosphorescent compound.

12. The light-emitting device according to claim 9, further comprising an electron-transport layer between the light-emitting layer and one of the pair of electrodes, wherein the electron-transport layer comprises the organic compound.

13. The light-emitting device according to claim 12, wherein the electron-transport layer is in contact with the light-emitting layer.

14. The light-emitting device according to claim 12, further comprising a second electron-transport layer between the electron-transport layer and the one of the pair of electrodes.

15. An electronic device comprising the light-emitting device according to claim 9.

16. A lighting device comprising the light-emitting device according to claim 9.
