Abstract

One embodiment provides a method of using contextural lighting to assist a user of a medical fluid injection system. In this embodiment, the method includes providing alighted display in proximity to a component of the injection system during setup of the medical fluid injection system. If the user has properly performed a setup function that is associated with the component of the injection system, the method further comprises providing a first visual indication on the lighted display. If the user has not properly performed the setup function that is associated with the component of the injection system, the method further comprises providing a second indication on the lighted display.

21. A computer program product embodied in an information carrier, the computer program product containing instructions that, when executed, perform a method in a powered fluid injection system, the method comprising:

providing, within a graphical user interface (GUI), a display of a plurality of selectable options, each option including a graphical symbol that is associated with information about a medical procedure performed on a patient; and

upon user selection of one of the options, retrieving one or more injection parameters for the medical procedure associated with the graphical symbol of the selected option; and

displaying, within the GUI, the one or more injection parameters.

22. The computer program product of claim 21, wherein each selectable option includes a graphical symbol that represents an anatomical location of a patient that is associated with the medical procedure.

23. The computer program product of claim 21, wherein each graphical symbol comprises an icon.

24. The computer program product of claim 21, wherein the method further comprises:

obtaining user input to modify one of the displayed injection parameters.

25. The computer program product of claim 21, wherein the method further comprises:

prominently displaying, within the GUI, the selected option.

26. The computer program product of claim 25, wherein prominently displaying the selected option comprises changing a color of the selected option within the GUI.

33. A method to provide setup information to a user of a powered medical fluid injection system, the method comprising:

in a graphical user interface (GUI), providing a display of a graphical representation of a component of the fluid injection system; and

providing a visual indicator for the graphical representation of the component to instruct the user that a specific setup function is to be performed on the component of the injection system.

34. The method of claim 33, further comprising:

providing a second display of a second graphical representation of one or more additional components of the fluid injection system.

35. The method of claim 33, wherein providing the visual indicator for the graphical representation of the component comprises providing one or more textual instructions.

36. The method of claim 33, wherein providing the visual indicator for the graphical representation of the component comprises providing one or more graphical symbols.

37. The method of claim 36, wherein the graphical symbols are displayed in one or more colors.

38. The method of claim 33, wherein providing the visual indicator for the graphical representation of the component comprises providing a series of instructions with the GUI for a guided setup mode.
