Abstract

In particular embodiments, a method includes receiving from a remote system a binary decision diagram (BDD) representing data streams from sensors, an input, and a first hash code, transforming the received BDD to a second arithmetic function by performing the arithmetic transformation on the received BDD, calculating a second hash code from the second arithmetic function and the input, and if the first hash code equals the second hash code, then indicating that the received BDD is uncorrupted data, else indicating that the received BDD is corrupted data.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving, from a first computing device and at a second computing device,

a first hash code, wherein the first hash code is determined by applying a hashing scheme to a first instance of a binary decision diagram (BDD) at the first computing device and the BDD represents sensor data from one or more sensors; and

a second instance of the BDD;

determining, by the second computing device, a second hash code by applying the hashing scheme to the second instance of the BDD;

if the second hash code equals the first hash code, then indicating, by the second computing device, that the second instance of the BDD is valid; and

if the second hash code does not equal the first hash code, then indicating, by the second computing device, that the second instance of the BDD is invalid.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first hash code is determined at the first computing device by:

transforming the first instance of the BDD to a first arithmetic function based on a transformation scheme; and

calculating the first hash code by applying a set of input values to the first arithmetic function.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the transformation scheme comprises transforming “

8. The method of claim 2, wherein the set of input values is randomly selected.

9. The method of claim 2, further comprising receiving, from the first computing device and at the second computing device, the set of input values.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein determining the second hash code comprises:

transforming the second instance of the BDD to a second arithmetic function based on the transformation scheme; and

calculating the second has code by applying the set of input values to the second arithmetic function.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein indicating that the second instance of the BDD is invalid comprises indicating that the sensor data represented by the BDD are corrupted during transmission from the first computing device to the second computing device.

12. The method of claim 1, further comprising if the second hash code does not equal the first hash code, then:

sending, to the first computing device and by the second computing device, a request to resend the sensor data represented by the BDD;

receiving, from the first computing device and at the second computing device, a third instance of the BDD;

determining, by the second computing device, a third hash code by applying the hashing scheme to the third instance of the BDD;

if the third hash code equals the first hash code, then indicating, by the second computing device, that the third instance of the BDD is valid; and

if the third hash code does not equal the first hash code, then indicating, by the second computing device, that the third instance of the BDD is invalid.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein indicating that the third instance of the BDD is invalid comprises indicating that the sensor data represented by the BDD are corrupted prior to transmission from the first computing device to the second computing device.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the hashing scheme is predetermined and agreed upon between the first computing device and the second computing device.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the first computing device is a mobile device.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein:

the first computing device is a mobile device associated with a patient;

the second computing device is a workstation associated with a healthcare provider; and

the mobile device sends the sensor data represented by the BDD to the workstation.

17. The method of claim 1, wherein at least one of the one or more sensors is affixed to a person'"'"'s body.

18. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

if the second instance of the BDD is valid, then storing the second instance of the BDD; and

if the second instance of the BDD is invalid, then deleting the second instance of the BDD.

19. An apparatus comprising:

one or more processors; and

a memory coupled to the processors comprising instructions executable by the processors, the processors operable when executing the instructions to;

receive, from a first computing device,

a first hash code, wherein the first hash code is determined by applying a hashing scheme to a first instance of a binary decision diagram (BDD) at the first computing device and the BDD represents sensor data from one or more sensors; and

a second instance of the BDD;

determine a second hash code by applying the hashing scheme to the second instance of the BDD;

if the second hash code equals the first hash code, then indicate that the second instance of the BDD is valid; and

if the second hash code does not equal the first hash code, then indicate that the second instance of the BDD is invalid.

20. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the first hash code is determined at the first computing device by:

transforming the first instance of the BDD to a first arithmetic function based on a transformation scheme; and

calculating the first hash code by applying a set of input values to the first arithmetic function.

21. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein the transformation scheme comprises transforming “

27. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein the processors are further operable when executing the instructions to receive, from the first computing device, the set of input values.

28. The apparatus of claim 27, wherein determining the second hash code comprises:

transforming the second instance of the BDD to a second arithmetic function based on the transformation scheme; and

calculating the second has code by applying the set of input values to the second arithmetic function.

29. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein indicating that the second instance of the BDD is invalid comprises indicating that the sensor data represented by the BDD are corrupted during transmission from the first computing device.

30. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the processors are further operable when executing the instructions to, if the second hash code does not equal the first hash code, then:

send, to the first computing device, a request to resend the sensor data represented by the BDD;

receive, from the first computing device, a third instance of the BDD;

determine a third hash code by applying the hashing scheme to the third instance of the BDD;

if the third hash code equals the first hash code, then indicate that the third instance of the BDD is valid; and

if the third hash code does not equal the first hash code, then indicate that the third instance of the BDD is invalid.

31. The apparatus of claim 30, wherein indicating that the third instance of the BDD is invalid comprises indicating that the sensor data represented by the BDD are corrupted prior to transmission from the first computing device.

32. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the hashing scheme is predetermined and agreed upon between the first computing device and the apparatus.

33. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the first computing device is a mobile device.

34. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein:

the first computing device is a mobile device associated with a patient;

the apparatus is a workstation associated with a healthcare provider; and

the mobile device sends the sensor data represented by the BDD to the workstation.

35. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein at least one of the one or more sensors is affixed to a person'"'"'s body.

36. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the processors are further operable when executing the instructions to:

if the second instance of the BDD is valid, then store the second instance of the BDD; and

if the second instance of the BDD is invalid, then delete the second instance of the BDD.

37. One or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media embodying software that is operable when executed to:

receive, from a first computing device and at a second computing device,

a first hash code, wherein the first hash code is determined by applying a hashing scheme to a first instance of a binary decision diagram (BDD) at the first computing device and the BDD represents sensor data from one or more sensors; and

a second instance of the BDD;

determine, by the second computing device, a second hash code by applying the hashing scheme to the second instance of the BDD;

if the second hash code equals the first hash code, then indicate, by the second computing device, that the second instance of the BDD is valid; and

if the second hash code does not equal the first hash code, then indicate, by the second computing device, that the second instance of the BDD is invalid.

38. The media of claim 37, wherein the first hash code is determined at the first computing device by:

transforming the first instance of the BDD to a first arithmetic function based on a transformation scheme; and

calculating the first hash code by applying a set of input values to the first arithmetic function.

39. The media of claim 38, wherein the transformation scheme comprises transforming “

45. The media of claim 38, wherein the software is further operable when executed to receive, from the first computing device and at the second computing device, the set of input values.

46. The media of claim 45, wherein determining the second hash code comprises:

transforming the second instance of the BDD to a second arithmetic function based on the transformation scheme; and

calculating the second has code by applying the set of input values to the second arithmetic function.

47. The media of claim 37, wherein indicating that the second instance of the BDD is invalid comprises indicating that the sensor data represented by the BDD are corrupted during transmission from the first computing device to the second computing device.

48. The media of claim 37, wherein the software is further operable when executed to, if the second hash code does not equal the first hash code, then:

send, to the first computing device and by the second computing device, a request to resend the sensor data represented by the BDD;

receive, from the first computing device and at the second computing device, a third instance of the BDD;

determine, by the second computing device, a third hash code by applying the hashing scheme to the third instance of the BDD;

if the third hash code equals the first hash code, then indicate, by the second computing device, that the third instance of the BDD is valid; and

if the third hash code does not equal the first hash code, then indicate, by the second computing device, that the third instance of the BDD is invalid.

49. The media of claim 48, wherein indicating that the third instance of the BDD is invalid comprises indicating that the sensor data represented by the BDD are corrupted prior to transmission from the first computing device to the second computing device.

50. The media of claim 37, wherein the hashing scheme is predetermined and agreed upon between the first computing device and the second computing device.

51. The media of claim 37, wherein the first computing device is a mobile device.

52. The media of claim 37, wherein:

the first computing device is a mobile device associated with a patient;

the second computing device is a workstation associated with a healthcare provider; and

the mobile device sends the sensor data represented by the BDD to the workstation.

53. The media of claim 37, wherein at least one of the one or more sensors is affixed to a person'"'"'s body.

54. The media of claim 37, wherein the software is further operable when executed to:

if the second instance of the BDD is valid, then store the second instance of the BDD; and

if the second instance of the BDD is invalid, then delete the second instance of the BDD.

55. A system comprising:

means for receiving, from a first computing device and at a second computing device,

a first hash code, wherein the first hash code is determined by applying a hashing scheme to a first instance of a binary decision diagram (BDD) at the first computing device and the BDD represents sensor data from one or more sensors; and

a second instance of the BDD;

means for determining, by the second computing device, a second hash code by applying the hashing scheme to the second instance of the BDD;

means for, if the second hash code equals the first hash code, then indicating, by the second computing device, that the second instance of the BDD is valid; and

means for, if the second hash code does not equal the first hash code, then indicating, by the second computing device, that the second instance of the BDD is invalid.
