Abstract

A device provides, to a server device, a single request for user information associated with an application provided in the device. The device also receives, from the server device and based on the single request, one or more tables in a same format as stored in the server device, where the one or more tables are not joined by the server device. The device further stores the one or more tables in a database associated with the device, queries the one or more tables in the database for the user information, and provides, to the application, the user information retrieved based on the query.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

generating, by a device, a single request for user information associated with an application provided on the device;

providing, by the device, the single request to a server device;

receiving, by the device and based on the single request, one or more tables in a same format as available in the server device, where the one or more tables are not joined by the server device;

storing, by the device, the one or more tables in a database associated with the device;

querying, by the device, the one or more tables in the database for the user information; and

providing, by the device and to the application, the user information retrieved based on the query.

2. The method of claim 1, where the application includes multiple portions and the single request includes a request for user information associated with each of the multiple portions of the application.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

providing at least a portion of the user information to each of the multiple portions of the application.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

providing for display the user information in the application via a user interface associated with the device.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

joining the one or more tables together prior to storing the one or more tables in the database.

6. A method, comprising:

executing, by a device, an application that includes multiple modules that provide information for telephone numbers associated with the device;

receiving, by the device, selection of an upgrade to a particular module of the multiple modules;

maintaining, by the device, operation of the multiple modules, other than the particular module, during the upgrade of the particular module; and

upgrading, by the device, the particular module.

7. The method of claim 6, where upgrading the particular module includes:

unloading information from the particular module;

installing the upgrade of the particular module; and

reloading the information to the upgraded particular module.

8. The method of claim 6, where the unloaded information is temporarily stored in a database associated with the device.

9. The method of claim 6, where upgrading the particular module includes:

upgrading a functionality of the particular module.

10. The method of claim 6, further comprising:

activating the upgraded particular module.

11. A device, comprising:

a memory to store an application; and

a processor to;

provide, to a server device, a single request for user information associated with the application,

receive, from the server device and based on the single request, one or more tables in a same format as stored in the server device, where the one or more tables are not joined by the server device,

store the one or more tables in a database associated with the device,

query the one or more tables in the database for the user information, and

provide, to the application, the user information retrieved based on the query.

12. The device of claim 11, where the application includes multiple portions and the single request includes a request for user information associated with each of the multiple portions of the application.

13. The device of claim 12, where the processor is further to:

provide at least a portion of the user information to each of the multiple portions of the application.

14. The device of claim 11, where the processor is further to:

provide for display the user information in the application via a user interface associated with the device.

15. The device of claim 11, where the processor is further to:

joining the one or more tables together prior to storing the one or more tables in the database.

16. A device, comprising:

a memory to store an application that includes multiple portions that provide information for telephone numbers associated with the device; and

a processor to;

execute the application,

receive a selection of an upgrade to a particular portion of the multiple portions of the application,

maintain operation of the multiple portions, other than the particular portion, during the upgrade of the particular portion, and

upgrade the particular portion.

17. The device of claim 16, where, when upgrading the particular portion, the processor is further to:

unload information from the particular portion,

install the upgrade of the particular portion, and

reload the information to the upgraded particular portion.

18. The device of claim 16, where the unloaded information is temporarily stored in the memory of the device.

19. The device of claim 16, where, when upgrading the particular portion, the processor is further to:

upgrade a functionality of the particular portion.

20. The device of claim 16, where the processor is further to:

activate the upgraded particular portion.
