Abstract

The present disclosure provides a method for obtaining degradation of a battery comprising the steps of collecting data of the battery and data related to the degradation of the battery; processing the collected data to obtain parameters related to the degradation of the battery; creating and updating a degradation model for the battery with the obtained parameters; and computing the degradation of the battery by using the degradation model and the parameters.

Claims

1. A method for obtaining degradation of a battery, comprising:

collecting data of the battery and data related to the degradation of the battery, and processing the collected data to obtain parameters related to the degradation of the battery;

creating and updating a degradation model for the battery using the obtained parameters; and

computing the degradation of the battery using the degradation model and the parameters related to the degradation.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

creating an initial degradation model for the battery or updating the computed degradation model, based on the values of actually measured battery degradation and the obtained parameters related to the degradation.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

storing successively the obtained parameters related to the degradation to form a degradation parameter log.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

updating and calibrating the degradation model with the obtained parameters related to the degradation.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the parameters related to the degradation comprises a quadrant parameter set (E, V, P, B) of a parameter of battery, a parameter of vehicle type and on-vehicle electronics, a parameter of traveled road condition, and a parameter of environment.

The method of claim 5, wherein the quadrant parameter set (E, V, P, B) comprises data for battery ID, battery brand, battery model, battery type, battery quality, battery date of production, battery producer'"'"'s prices, rated full charge amount, discharge current, discharge voltage, battery internal resistance, and ambient temperature.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

computing the battery'"'"'s residual value based on the degradation of the battery.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the degradation model is updated by using a linear data interpolation method.

9. A system for obtaining degradation of a battery, comprising:

a data collection unit configured to collect data of the battery and data related to the degradation of the battery, process the collected data to obtain parameters related to the degradation of the battery, and store the obtained parameters successively in a degradation parameter log;

a model creation and update unit configured to create and update a degradation model for the battery with the obtained parameters; and

a degradation computation unit configured to compute the degradation of the battery by using the degradation model and the obtained parameters related to the degradation.

10. The system of claim 9, further comprising:

degradation storage unit configured to store the degradation parameter log, the collected data of the battery and data related to the degradation, and the obtained parameters related to the degradation.

11. The system of claim 9, further comprising:

degradation model calibration unit configured to update and calibrate the degradation model with actually measured values of obtained battery degradation and the obtained parameters related to the degradation.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the degradation model calibration unit updates and calibrates a part of the degradation model that is not obtained through actual measurement, with the actually measured values and the obtained parameters related to the degradation.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the model creation and update unit creates an initial degradation model for the battery based on actually measured battery data.

14. The system of claim 10, further comprising data analysis unit,

wherein the degradation computed with the degradation model is stored in the degradation storage unit and provided to the data analysis unit,

wherein the data analysis unit is configured to analyze the data of the battery, the data related to the degradation, the obtained parameters related to the degradation and the corresponding degradation stored in the degradation storage unit, to obtain a relationship between predetermined parameters of an external degradation data application subsystem and the corresponding degradation, and provide the analysis result to the external degradation data application subsystem.

15. The system of claim 9, wherein the computation result from the degradation computation unit is provided to and temporarily stored in the data collection unit.

16. The system of claim 10, wherein the degradation storage unit comprises a persistent storage area for storing data to be saved for a long term, and a temporary storage area for storing data that can be deleted under a predetermined condition.

17. The system of claim 9, wherein the degradation model Ds comprises a parameter of battery attribute fb, a parameter of battery charge/discharge fp, a parameter of battery use environment fe, and a parameter of vehicle fv.

18. The system of claim 9, wherein the degradation computation unit is further configured to compute the residual value of the battery based on the degradation.

19. The system of claim 9, wherein the data collection unit transmits the collected data of the battery to the model creation and update unit via a transmission network that adopts a wired transmission scheme including one or more of ADSL, HD-PLC, or FTTH.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the transmission network adopts a wireless transmission scheme including one or more of WiFi, GSM/3G/4G and various short-range wireless transmissions.

21. The system of claim 9, wherein the collection of the data of the battery comprises one or more of one-time collection, periodical collection, and condition-triggered collection.

22. The system of claim 21, wherein the data collection unit is a unit built-in vehicle, a separate unit, or a unit installed on a battery charging device or a battery exchange device.

23. The system of claim 9, wherein the obtained degradation of the battery and the degradation parameter log are used to control a charging process of the battery.

24. The system of claim 9, wherein the obtained degradation of the battery, the degradation parameter log, and a scheme of vehicle driving are used to control a charging/discharging process of the battery.

25. The system of claim 9, wherein the battery comprises a free battery pack including a number of battery blocks, and part of the battery blocks can be flexibly replaced or assembled.

26. A method for creating and updating a degradation model of a battery, comprising:

transmitting data of a degradation parameter log of the battery to a battery application management center;

recording, at the battery application management center, the data into a database, and using the data to update a degradation model of the battery;

looking up the database for data items of the degradation model corresponding to the battery, if the data items do not exist, updating the degradation model with parameters related to the degradation of the battery and a newly computed value of the degradation to generate data items corresponding to the battery.

The method of claim 26, wherein when difference between the parameters related to the degradation in the degradation model and collected and processed parameters related to the degradation is larger than a predetermined value, new data items are generated for an extended degradation model, wherein the magnitude of the predetermined value is set depending on precision requirement of the degradation model.

28. A battery application system, comprising a battery charging station, a battery exchange station, a household charging station, and/or power accumulation systems for electric vehicles, wherein the system is configured to determine how to utilize a battery based on battery degradation obtained by a method for obtaining a degradation of a battery, the method comprising:

collecting data of the battery and data related to the degradation of the battery, and processing the collected data to obtain parameters related to the degradation of the battery;

creating and updating a degradation model for the battery using the obtained parameters; and

computing the degradation of the battery using the degradation model and the parameters related to the degradation.

30. The battery application system of claim 28, wherein the utilization of a battery comprises connecting to a battery service center (BSC) and retrieving degradation information of a battery based on the battery'"'"'s unique identification (ID), and then utilizing the degradation information.

A battery application system, comprising a battery charging station, a battery exchange station, a household charging station, and/or power accumulation systems for electric vehicles, wherein the system is configured to control battery utilization based on a battery'"'"'s degradation, residual value, and degradation parameter log.
