Abstract

A covering assembly for a seat, including a cover adapted to cover a support frame of the seat and an inflatable member adapted to assume a resting deflated condition and an active inflated condition is described. The inflatable member is located on a side of the cover intended to be faced towards the support frame. The cover is adapted to contain the inflatable member both in the deflated condition and in the inflated condition.

Claims

1. A covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) for a seat (1, 101, 201, 3001), said covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) comprising a cover (4, 104, 3004) and an inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) adapted to assume a resting deflated condition and an active inflated condition, wherein said inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) is placed on a side or face of the cover (4, 104, 3004), and wherein said cover (4, 104, 3004) is adapted to contain the inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) both in the deflated condition and in the inflated condition.

2. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to claim 1, wherein said cover (4, 104, 3004) forms a complete covering for the inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002).

3. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said cover (4, 104) is an at least partially extensible cover (4, 104, 3004;

6, 106, 3006).

4. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to claim 3, wherein said cover (4, 3004) is of elastic material.

5. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to claim 3, wherein said cover (4, 3004) includes an elastic insert (6, 3006).

6. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to claim 3, wherein said cover (104) includes a bellows-shaped portion (106).

7. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the inflatable member (2, 3002) includes at least two side wings (2a, 2b;

3002a, 3002b).

8. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising at least one traction member (40, 42) which connects respective portions (2a, 2b;

3002a, 3002b) of the inflatable member (2) and is adapted to keep in a defined mutual position said portions (2a, 2b;

3002a, 3002b) in an inflated condition.

9. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to claim 8, in combination with claim 7 o 8, wherein said portions are said side wings (2a, 2b).

10. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to claim 9 or 10, wherein said traction member (40, 42) is an elastic tape.

The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising a first inflatable member (13) adapted to be placed in the region of a first side of a seating (9) of the seat (1, 201) and a second inflatable member (14) adapted to be placed in the region of a second side of the seating (9).

The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) includes a plurality of tie members (27) placed inside said inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) and stably associated to superficial portions (21, 22, 29, 30) of said inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002), wherein said tie members (27) are sized so that, when said inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) is in the deflated condition, said tie members (27) are in a non-tensioned condition and collapsed inside the inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002), whereas when said inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) is in the inflated condition, said tie members (27) are subjected to tensile stress.

The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to claim 12, wherein said inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) includes a first wall (21) and a second wall (22) fixed the one to the other along respective perimetral edges (23, 24) to define an internal chamber (25), and a textile structure located in said chamber (25) and including a first mesh (29) which is internally glued at least partially to said first wall (21), and a second mesh (30) which is internally glued at least partially to said second wall (22), said tie members (27) having opposite ends (27a, 27b) fixed respectively to said first mesh (29) and to said second mesh (30).

14. The covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein said inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) is adapted for being inflated in case of an impact.

15. A seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) including a covering assembly (100, 1001, 3100) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein that cover is adapted to cover a support frame (3) of the seat (1, 101, 201, 3001).

16. The seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) according to claim 15, wherein said seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) is a motor vehicle seat (300).

The seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) according to claim 15 or claim 16, comprising a backrest (8), wherein the inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) is located at sides of the backrest (8, 223) and wherein, when the inflatable member (2, 13, 14, 202, 203, 3002) is in said inflated condition, the seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) has lateral barriers (11, 12, 3011, 3012) extending toward a front region of the seat (1, 101, 201, 3001).

18. The seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) according to claim 17, wherein said seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) comprises a seating (9) and protection barriers (15, 16) located at respective sides of said seating (9).

19. The seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) according to claim 17 or 18, comprising a headrest (10) and lateral barriers (11, 12, 3011, 3012) located at the sides of a headrest (10).

20. A vehicle (300) including a seat (1, 101, 201, 3001) according to any one of the claims 15 to 19.
