Abstract

The present invention provides a MMT transport packet structure and a method and an apparatus configuring the structure. A method of configuring an MPEG Media Transport (MMT) transport packet for transmitting an MMT payload format, the method comprising: configuring the MMT transport packet so that the

MMT transport packet includes at least one MMT payload format unit and a sequence number field for a packet stream, wherein the sequence number field maintains consistency with a sequence number field included in the MMT payload format.

Claims

1. A method of configuring an MPEG Media Transport (MMT) transport packet for transmitting an MMT payload format, the method comprising:

configuring the MMT transport packet so that the MMT transport packet includes at least one MMT payload format unit and a sequence number field for a packet stream,

wherein the sequence number field maintains consistency with a sequence number field included in the MMT payload format.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the MMT payload format comprises a field regarding a sequence number that is supported in an RTP packet.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein a Presentation Time Stamp (PTS)-equivalent function is provided through an Encapsulation (E)-layer function.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the E-layer function is provided by an M-unit.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein in the MMT payload format, units are aggregated or fragmented for each MMT Transport Unit (MTU).

6. A method of transmitting an MPEG Media Transport (MMT) transport packet for transmitting an MMT payload format, the method comprising:

configuring the MMT transport packet so that the MMT transport packet includes at least one MMT payload format unit and a sequence number field for a packet stream; and

transmitting the configured MMT transport packet,

wherein the sequence number field maintains consistency with a sequence number field included in the MMT payload format.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the MMT payload format comprises a field regarding a sequence number that is supported in an RTP packet.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein a Presentation Time Stamp (PTS)-equivalent function is provided through an Encapsulation (E)-layer function.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the E-layer function is provided by an M-unit.

10. The method of claim 6, wherein in the MMT payload format, units are aggregated or fragmented for each MMT Transport Unit (MTU).

11. An MPEG Media Transport (MMT) transport packet, comprising:

a header part and at least one Media Fragment Unit (MFU),

wherein the MFU comprises at least one MMT payload format unit,

the header part comprises a sequence number field for a packet stream, and

the sequence number field maintains consistency with a sequence number field included in the MMT payload format.

12. The MMT transport packet of claim 11, wherein the MMT payload format comprises a field regarding a sequence number that is supported in an RTP packet.

13. The MMT transport packet of claim 11, wherein a Presentation Time Stamp (PTS)-equivalent function is provided through an Encapsulation (E)-layer function.

14. The MMT transport packet of claim 13, wherein the E-layer function is provided by an M-unit.

15. The MMT transport packet of claim 11, wherein in the MMT payload format, units are aggregated or fragmented for each MMT Transport Unit (MTU).
