Abstract

Systems, methods, and graphical user interfaces for concurrent display of a reply message and two or more response options are disclosed. In some implementations, a method includes, at a computer, maintaining the display of a reply message associated with a plurality of response options. Each respective response option in the plurality of response options is independently associated with one or more recipient addresses for the reply message. While maintaining the display of at least a portion of the reply message, at least one recipient address for the reply message is updated in accordance with a selected response option. In some implementations, the maintaining of the display of at least a portion of the reply message includes maintaining the display of at least a portion of a message body of the reply message. In some embodiments, the selected response option is one of: reply, reply to all, and forward.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

at a computer;

maintaining the display of a reply message associated with a plurality of response options, wherein each respective response option in the plurality of response options is independently associated with one or more recipient addresses for the reply message;

while maintaining the display of at least a portion of the reply message, updating at least one recipient address for the reply message in accordance with a selected response option in the plurality of response options.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein maintaining the display of at least the portion of the reply message includes:

maintaining display of at least a portion of a message body of the reply message.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected response option is one of:

reply, reply to all, and forward.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one recipient address is updated without requesting a new reply form.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the reply message and the at least one recipient address are displayed in a first reply form.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

displaying a tear-off mechanism; and

responsive to a user selection of the tear-off mechanism;

displaying a second reply form separately from the first reply form;

wherein the second reply form includes;

the plurality of response options; and

the portion of the reply message.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the second reply form further includes:

an option to edit a recipient address associated with a response option, in the plurality of response options, for the reply message.

8. A graphical user interface on a computer, comprising:

a plurality of address fields, wherein each respective address field in the plurality of address fields comprises a corresponding recipient address for a reply message;

an input area for the reply message; and

a plurality of response options associated with the reply message;

wherein each response option in the plurality of response options is independently associated with one or more recipient addresses for the reply message that are in the plurality of address fields; and

wherein, while maintaining a display of at least a portion of the reply message, at least one recipient address for the reply message is updated in accordance with a selected response option from the plurality of response options.

9. The graphical user interface of claim 8, wherein maintaining the display of at least the portion of the reply message includes:

maintaining display of at least a portion of a message body of the reply message.

10. The graphical user interface of claim 8, wherein the selected response option is one of:

reply, reply to all, and forward.

11. The graphical user interface of claim 8, wherein the at least one recipient address is updated without requesting a new reply form.

12. The graphical user interface of claim 8, wherein the reply message and the plurality of address fields are displayed in a first reply form.

13. The graphical user interface of claim 12, further comprising:

a tear-off mechanism,

wherein, responsive to a user selection of the tear-off mechanism;

a second reply form separately from the first reply form is displayed; and

wherein the second reply form includes;

the plurality of response options; and

a portion of the reply message.

14. The graphical user interface of claim 13, wherein the second reply form further includes:

an option to edit a corresponding recipient address for the reply message that is obtained from the first form.

15. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing at least one program configured for execution by at least one processor of a computer system, the at least one program comprising instructions to:

maintain display of a reply message associated with a plurality of response options, wherein each response option in the plurality of response options is independently associated with one or more recipient addresses for the reply message; and

update, while maintaining the display of at least a portion of the reply message, at least one recipient address for the reply message in accordance with a selected response option in the plurality of response options.

16. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein maintaining the display of at least the portion of the reply message includes:

maintaining display of at least a portion of a message body of the reply message.

17. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the selected response option is one of:

reply, reply to all, and forward.

18. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the at least one recipient address is updated without requesting a new reply form.

19. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the reply message and each recipient address associated with a response option in the plurality of response options is displayed in a first reply form.

20. The computer readable storage medium of claim 19, wherein the at least one program further comprising instructions to:

display a tear-off mechanism; and

responsive to a user selection of the tear-off mechanism;

display a second reply form separately from the first reply form, wherein the second reply form includes;

each recipient address associated with a response option in the plurality of response options; and

a portion of the reply message.
