Abstract

A mobile terminal including a wireless communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with at least one other terminal; a display unit including a touchscreen; a memory configured to store a specific application, an application icon for executing the specific application, and a first widget application displaying a partial executed function of the specific application; and a controller configured to when receiving a first touch gesture on the application icon, execute the specific application, and when receiving a second touch gesture on the application icon that is different than the first touch gesture, control the display unit to display the first widget application on the touchscreen.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal comprising:

a wireless communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with at least one other terminal;

a display unit including a touchscreen;

a memory configured to store a specific application, an application icon for executing the specific application, and a first widget application displaying a partial executed function of the specific application; and

a controller configured to;

when receiving a first touch gesture on the application icon, execute the specific application, and

when receiving a second touch gesture on the application icon that is different than the first touch gesture, control the display unit to display the first widget application on the touchscreen.

2. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to control the wireless communication unit to download both the application icon and first widget application by accessing an external server.

3. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein when receiving the second touch gesture on the application icon, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to alternately display the application icon and the first widget application.

4. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein when receiving the second touch gesture on the application icon, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to visually transform the application icon into the first widget application.

5. The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein when the second touch gesture or a third touch gesture is performed on the first widget application, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to visually restore the application icon from the first widget application.

6. The mobile terminal of claim 2, wherein when the specific application is downloaded, the controller is further configured to control the memory to store at least a second widget application.

7. The mobile terminal of claim 6, wherein when the second touch gesture or a third touch gesture is performed on the first widget application, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to visually change the first widget application into the second widget application.

8. The mobile terminal of claim 6, wherein when the second touch gesture or a third touch gesture is performed on the first widget application, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to change the first widget application into the application icon.

9. The mobile terminal of claim 6, wherein when the second touch gesture or a third touch gesture is performed on the second widget application, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to visually change the second widget application into the first widget application.

10. The mobile terminal of claim 6, wherein when the second touch gesture or a third touch gesture is performed on the second widget application, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to change the second widget application into the application icon.

The mobile terminal of claim 10, wherein when either the second touch gesture or the third touch gesture is performed on the changed application icon, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to change the application icon into the second widget, and to maintain a size of the second widget before the second widget was changed into the application icon.

The mobile terminal of claim 6, wherein when the second touch gesture is performed on the application icon, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to display the newly created second widget application and to change the application icon into the first widget application.

The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein when either the second touch gesture or the third touch gesture is performed on the first widget application, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to stop displaying the second widget application and to change the first widget application into the application icon or to not change the second widget application and to change the first widget application into the application icon.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein when either the second touch gesture or the third touch gesture is performed on the not changed second widget application, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to stop displaying the second widget application.

The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein when either the second touch gesture or the third touch gesture is performed on the second widget application, the controller is further configured to control the display unit to stop displaying the second widget application and to change the first widget application into the application icon or to stop displaying the first widget application and to change the second widget application into the application icon.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the first touch gesture comprises a simple touch gesture for the application icon and the 2^nd touch gesture comprises an outward direction drag touch gesture for the application icon.

17. A mobile terminal comprising:

a wireless communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with at least one other terminal;

a display unit including a touchscreen;

a memory configured to store a specific folder and a first folder object and a second folder object for the specific folder; and

a controller configured to;

display a first folder icon on the touchscreen,

when a first touch gesture is performed on the first folder object, open the specific folder, and

when a second touch gesture is performed on the first folder object, visually changing the first folder object into the second folder object.

18. The mobile terminal of claim 17, wherein when the specific folder is opened, the controller is further configured to control a first home screen not to be changed into a second home screen, and

wherein when the second folder object is displayed, the controller is further configure to change the first home screen into the second home screen on the touchscreen.

19. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

storing, via a memory associated with the mobile terminal, a specific application, an application icon for executing the specific application, and a first widget application displaying a partial executed function of the specific application;

when receiving, via a controller of the mobile terminal, a first touch gesture on the application icon, executing the specific application; and

when receiving, via the controller, a second touch gesture on the application icon that is different than the first touch gesture, controlling a touch screen display unit of the mobile terminal to display the first widget application.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising:

when receiving the second touch gesture on the application icon, alternately displaying the application icon and the first widget application on the touch screen display unit.
