Abstract

Scheduling data transmissions in a wireless network is disclosed. A first value related to a radio bearer is provided to a user equipment (UE) by a wireless network. The wireless network also sends an allocation message for an uplink transmission and receives data in response. The data is selected from a plurality of radio bearers of the UE in response to the received first value and based on a second value.

Claims

1. A wireless network, the wireless network comprising:

a network controller comprising;

circuitry configured to provide information to a network device;

the network device comprising;

circuitry configured to send a first parameter for each of a plurality of radio bearers of a user equipment (UE), wherein each of the plurality of radio bearers are associated with a channel;

the circuitry further configured to send an allocation message for an uplink resource to the UE;

circuitry configured to receive data from the plurality of radio bearers in response to the allocation message, wherein allocation of resources for the data of each channel of a radio bearer having a second parameter above zero is provided before another channel'"'"'s data for transmission having another second parameter less than zero; and

wherein the second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter and the another second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter.

2. The wireless network of claim 1 further comprising:

the circuitry further configured to receive a plurality of indications of buffer occupancies corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers.

3. The wireless network of claim 1 wherein the received data includes data of others of the plurality of radio bearers.

4. The wireless network of claim 1 wherein the second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with a third parameter and the another second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with the third parameter.

5. A wireless network device comprising:

circuitry configured to send a first parameter for each of a plurality of radio bearers of a user equipment (UE), wherein each of the plurality of radio bearers are associated with a channel;

the circuitry further configured to send an allocation message for an uplink resource to the UE;

circuitry configured to receive data from the plurality of radio bearers in response to the allocation message, wherein allocation of resources for the data of each channel of a radio bearer having a second parameter above zero is provided before another channel'"'"'s data for transmission having another second parameter less than zero; and

wherein the second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter and the another second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter.

6. The wireless network device of claim 5 further comprising:

the circuitry further configured to receive a plurality of indications of buffer occupancies corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers.

7. The wireless network device of claim 5 wherein the received data includes data of others of the plurality of radio bearers.

8. The wireless network device of claim 5 wherein the second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with a third parameter and the another second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with the third parameter.

9. A user equipment (UE) comprising:

circuitry configured to provide a plurality of radio bearers;

circuitry configured to receive a first parameter from a network device corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers and receive an allocation message for an uplink resource from the network device;

circuitry configured to allocate resources in response to the allocation message, wherein resources are allocated for data of each channel of a radio bearer having a second parameter above zero before another channel'"'"'s data for transmission having another second parameter less than zero; and

wherein the second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter and the another second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter.

10. The UE of claim 9 further comprising:

circuitry configured to send a plurality of indications of buffer occupancies corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers.

11. The UE of claim 9 wherein the second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with a third parameter and the another second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with the third parameter.

12. A method performed by a wireless network, the method comprising:

sending, by the wireless network, a first parameter for each of a plurality of radio bearers of a user equipment (UE), wherein each of the plurality of radio bearers are associated with a channel;

sending, by the wireless network, an allocation message for an uplink resource to the UE;

receiving, by the wireless network, data from the plurality of radio bearers in response to the allocation message, wherein allocation of resources for the data of each channel of a radio bearer having a second parameter above zero is provided before another channel'"'"'s data for transmission having another second parameter less than zero; and

wherein the second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter and the another second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter.

13. The method of claim 12 further comprising:

receiving, by the wireless network, a plurality of indications of buffer occupancies corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers.

14. The method of claim 12 wherein the received data includes data of others of the plurality of radio bearers.

15. The method of claim 12 wherein the second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with a third parameter and the another second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with the third parameter.

16. A method performed by a wireless network, the method comprising:

providing, by a network controller, information to a network device;

sending, by the network device, a first parameter for each of a plurality of radio bearers of a user equipment (UE), wherein each of the plurality of radio bearers are associated with a channel;

sending, by the network device, an allocation message for an uplink resource to the UE;

receiving, by the network device, data from the plurality of radio bearers in response to the allocation message, wherein allocation of resources for the data of each channel of a radio bearer having a second parameter above zero is provided before another channel'"'"'s data for transmission having another second parameter less than zero; and

wherein the second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter and the another second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter.

17. The method of claim 16 further comprising:

receiving, by the network device, a plurality of indications of buffer occupancies corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers.

18. The method of claim 16 wherein the received data includes data of others of the plurality of radio bearers.

19. The method of claim 16 wherein the second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with a third parameter and the another second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with the third parameter.

20. A method performed by a wireless network device, the method comprising:

sending, by the wireless network device, a first parameter for each of a plurality of radio bearers of a user equipment (UE), wherein each of the plurality of radio bearers are associated with a channel;

sending, by the wireless network device, an allocation message for an uplink resource to the UE;

receiving, by the wireless network device, data from the plurality of radio bearers in response to the allocation message, wherein allocation of resources for the data of each channel of a radio bearer having a second parameter above zero is provided before another channel'"'"'s data for transmission having another second parameter less than zero; and

wherein the second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter and the another second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter.

21. The method of claim 20 further comprising:

receiving, by the wireless network device, a plurality of indications of buffer occupancies corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers.

22. The method of claim 20 wherein the received data includes data of others of the plurality of radio bearers.

23. The method of claim 20 wherein the second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with a third parameter and the another second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with the third parameter.

24. A method performed by a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:

providing, by the UE, a plurality of radio bearers;

receiving, by the UE, a first parameter corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers from a network device and receiving an allocation message for an uplink resource from the network device;

allocating, by the UE, resources in response to the allocation message, wherein resources are allocated for the data of each channel of a radio bearer having a second parameter above zero before another channel'"'"'s data for transmission having another second parameter less than zero; and

wherein the second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter and the another second parameter is derived from its channel'"'"'s first parameter.

25. The method of claim 24 further comprising:

sending, by the UE, a plurality of indications of buffer occupancies corresponding to each of the plurality of radio bearers.

26. The method of claim 24 wherein the second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with a third parameter and the another second parameter is derived by multiplying its channel'"'"'s first parameter with the third parameter.
