Abstract

A method or apparatus for assisting a user to access a plurality of eBooks is provided. When a user accesses an eBook, the method or apparatus can assist the user to seek assistance from the Internet, or prepare homework, while at the same time, prevent plagiarisms of homework.

Claims

1. A method for preventing plagiarism of files containing textual contents, comprising the steps of:

generating a collection of pieces of information each specific to a part of a first file, for identifying different parts in said first file respectively;

receiving user command(s), and in response thereto, copying a part of said first file into a second file, and automatically copying a pieces of said information corresponding to said copied part, into a record associated with said second file.

2. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said collection includes information for indicating a particular piece of information in said first file is being entered by a user himself/herself or by copying from other file.

3. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said collection includes information for indicating the date and time of a particular piece of information being input into said first file.

4. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said collection includes information for identifying an apparatus being used for inputting a particular piece of information into said first file.

5. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said collection being encrypted to protect against alteration.

6. An apparatus for preventing plagiarism of files containing textual contents, comprising:

means for generating a collection of pieces of information each specific to a part of a first file, for identifying different parts in said first file respectively;

means for receiving user command(s), and in response thereto, copying a part of said first file into a second file, and automatically copying a pieces of said information corresponding to said copied part, into a record associated with said second file.

7. An apparatus as claimed in claim 6, wherein said collection includes information for indicating a particular piece of information in said first file is being entered by a user himself/herself or by copying from other file.

8. An apparatus as claimed in claim 6, wherein said collection includes information for indicating the date and time of a particular piece of information being input into said first file.

9. An apparatus as claimed in claim 6, wherein said collection includes information for identifying an apparatus being used for inputting a particular piece of information into said first file.

10. An apparatus as claimed in claim 6, wherein said collection being encrypted to protect against alteration.

11. An apparatus for detecting if any file in a plurality of files, is created by plagiarism, each of said files being associated with a collection of pieces of information, each said piece of information is for identifying a corresponding part in a said associated file, said apparatus being for comparing said collections with one another, and if a match is found, generating signals to draw attention.

A method for detecting if any file in a plurality of files, is created by plagiarism, each of said files being associated with a collection of pieces of information, each said piece of information is for identifying a corresponding part in a said associated file, said method comprising the steps of comparing said collections with one another, and if a match is found, generating signals to draw attention.

13. An apparatus for preventing plagiarism, comprising:

means for generating a collection of pieces of information each specific to a part of a file,

for identifying different parts in said file respectively;

wherein said collection includes information for indicating the date and time of a particular piece of information being input into said file, and information for identifying an apparatus being used for inputting a particular piece of information into said file.

14. An apparatus as claimed in claim 13, wherein said collection further includes information for indicating a particular piece of information in said file is being entered by a user himself/herself or by copying from other file.
