The depth-control mechanism includes a positioning tab that is configured to be repositioned along an axis that is orthogonal to the lancing stroke axis of the lancet carrier. The depth-adjustment mechanism also includes a tether that is pivotally coupled between the positioning tab and the lancet carrier.
