Abstract

A computing device includes a user interface, a network interface configured to receive vehicle data, driver information, and driver communications, a memory configured to store the vehicle data, the driver information, and the driver communications, and a processor configured to process the vehicle data, the driver information, and the driver communications into an electronic driver scorecard according to specified safety and efficiency criteria. The electronic driver scorecard comprises one or more alphanumerical ratings according to a selection of drivers as input by a user into the user interface.

Claims

1. A computing device comprising:

a user interface;

a network interface configured to receive vehicle data, driver information, and driver communications;

a memory configured to store the vehicle data, the driver information, and the driver communications; and

a processor configured to process the vehicle data, the driver information, and the driver communications into an electronic driver scorecard according to specified safety and efficiency criteria,

wherein the electronic driver scorecard comprises one or more alphanumerical ratings according to a selection of drivers as input by a user into the user interface.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the specified safety and efficiency criteria are selected from a group consisting of:

a fuel analysis;

a speed analysis;

a speeding analysis;

an accident analysis;

a violations analysis;

a hard brake analysis;

a high-speed brake analysis;

an idle analysis;

a regulatory compliance analysis;

an hours of driving analysis;

a vehicle maintenance analysis;

a cargo maintenance analysis;

a corporate rule compliance analysis;

a delivery history analysis; and

a delivery time analysis.

3. The device of claim 1, wherein the electronic driver scorecard categorizes the drivers according to a specified organizational grouping.

4. The device of claim 3, wherein the specified organizational grouping is selected from a group consisting of:

a type of driver;

a type of vehicle;

a type of cargo;

a corporate entity;

a government entity;

a nonprofit entity;

a cooperative entity;

a geographic location;

a date of driver service; and

a time of driver service.

5. The device of claim 1, wherein the device is further configured to evaluate drivers within a fleet relative to one another according to the specified safety and efficiency criteria, and, based on the evaluation, present a representation of the relative performances of the drivers within the fleet to a user.

The device of claim 1, wherein the device is further configured to evaluate a plurality of subsets of drivers within a fleet relative to one another according to the specified safety and efficiency criteria, and, based on the evaluation, present a representation of the relative performances of the subsets of the drivers within the fleet to a user.

7. The device of claim 6, wherein the subsets include drivers managed by different offices within the fleet.

8. A computing device comprising:

a means for receiving vehicle data, driver information, and driver communications;

a means for storing the vehicle data, the driver information, and the driver communications via memory; and

a means for processing the vehicle data, the driver information, and the driver communications into an electronic driver scorecard according to specified safety and efficiency criteria via the processor,

wherein the electronic driver scorecard comprises one or more alphanumerical ratings according to a selection of drivers as selected by a user.

9. The device of claim 8, wherein the specified safety and efficiency criteria are selected from a group consisting of:

a fuel analysis;

a speed analysis;

a speeding analysis;

an accident analysis;

a violations analysis;

a hard brake analysis;

a high-speed brake analysis;

an idle analysis;

a regulatory compliance analysis;

an hours of driving analysis;

a vehicle maintenance analysis;

a cargo maintenance analysis;

a corporate rule compliance analysis;

a delivery history analysis; and

a delivery time analysis.

10. The device of claim 8, wherein the electronic driver scorecard categorizes the drivers according to a specified organizational grouping.

11. The device of claim 10, wherein the specified organizational grouping is selected from a group consisting of:

a type of driver;

a type of vehicle;

a type of cargo;

a corporate entity;

a government entity;

a nonprofit entity;

a cooperative entity;

a geographic location;

a date of driver service; and

a time of driver service.

The device of claim 8, wherein the device is further configured to evaluate drivers within a fleet relative to one another according to the specified safety and efficiency criteria, and, based on the evaluation, present a representation of the relative performances of the drivers within the fleet to a user.

The device of claim 8, wherein the device is further configured to evaluate a plurality of subsets of drivers within a fleet relative to one another according to the specified safety and efficiency criteria, and, based on the evaluation, present a representation of the relative performances of the subsets of the drivers within the fleet to a user.

14. A method comprising:

receiving vehicle data and driver information with a network interface of a computing device;

storing the vehicle data and the driver information with a memory of the computing device; and

processing the vehicle data and the driver information into an electronic driver scorecard according to specified safety and efficiency with a processor of the computing device,

wherein the electronic driver scorecard comprises one or more alphanumerical ratings according to a selection of drivers as input by a user into a user interface of the computing device.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the specified safety and efficiency criteria are selected from a group consisting of:

a fuel analysis;

a speed analysis;

a speeding analysis;

an accident analysis;

a violations analysis;

a hard brake analysis;

a high-speed brake analysis;

an idle analysis;

a regulatory compliance analysis;

an hours of driving analysis;

a vehicle maintenance analysis;

a cargo maintenance analysis;

a corporate rule compliance analysis;

a delivery history analysis; and

a delivery time analysis.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein the electronic driver scorecard categorizes the drivers according to a specified organizational grouping.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the specified organizational grouping is selected from a group consisting of:

a type of driver;

a type of vehicle;

a type of cargo;

a corporate entity;

a government entity;

a nonprofit entity;

a cooperative entity;

a geographic location;

a date of driver service; and

a time of driver service.

18. The method of claim 14, further comprising:

evaluating drivers within a fleet relative to one another according to the specified safety and efficiency criteria; and

based on the evaluation, presenting a representation of the relative performances of the drivers within the fleet to a user.

19. The method of claim 14, further comprising:

evaluating a plurality of subsets of drivers within a fleet relative to one another according to the specified safety and efficiency criteria; and

based on the evaluation, presenting a representation of the relative performances of the subsets of the drivers within the fleet to a user.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein the subsets include drivers managed by different offices within the fleet.
