1. A method for processing an audio signal, the method comprising:
- receiving an audiometric reference profile;
receiving an audiometric listener profile;
providing an encoded input audio signal to a signal processor; and
transforming the input audio signal using the signal processor into an output audio signal, based on a difference between the reference profile and the listener profiles so that the output audio signal compensates for the difference.
