Abstract

An apparatus and a method for transmitting/receiving a message in an electronic device are provided. The method includes displaying a plurality of dialog windows are displayed, receiving a message via an input window, selecting at least one dialog window among the plurality of dialog windows, and transmitting the message to at least one of the plurality of dialog windows.

Claims

1. A method for transmitting/receiving a message in an electronic device, the method comprising:

displaying a plurality of dialog windows;

receiving a message via an input window;

selecting at least one dialog window among the plurality of dialog windows; and

transmitting the message to at least one of the plurality of dialog windows.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein displaying of the plurality of dialog windows comprises:

displaying a first dialog window for providing a first object and a message service using a first application;

when a second dialog window display event for providing a second object and a message service using the first application occurs, reducing and displaying the first dialog window; and

displaying the first dialog window and the second dialog window.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

after displaying the first dialog window for providing the first object and the message service using the first application, when the second dialog window display event for providing the second object and the message service using a second application occurs, reducing and displaying the first dialog window; and

displaying the first dialog window and the second dialog window.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the displaying of the plurality of dialog windows comprises:

obtaining display data from applications of the plurality of dialog windows; and

displaying the plurality of dialog windows based on the display data.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

after displaying the plurality of dialog windows, detecting a gesture for a corresponding dialog window; and

when detecting the gesture for the dialog window, changing the dialog window according to a direction of the gesture for the corresponding dialog window.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

when detecting the gesture for the dialog window, changing the dialog window according to a region of the corresponding dialog window where the gesture has been detected.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

when a magnify event for one of the plurality of dialog windows occurs, magnifying and displaying the corresponding dialog window,

wherein when a reduce event for the corresponding magnified dialog window occurs, a process for displaying the plurality of dialog windows is performed.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving of the message comprises:

displaying a touch keypad;

receiving a message on the input window via the touch keypad; and

determining a message input to the input window.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the selecting of the at least one dialog window comprises:

detecting a gesture; and

selecting at least one of the plurality of dialog windows according to a direction of the gesture.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the gesture is directed toward two or more of the plurality of dialog windows, and

wherein the selecting of the at least one of the plurality of window comprises selecting two or more of the plurality of windows according to the directions of the gesture.

11. An electronic device comprising:

at least one processor;

at least one touchscreen;

a memory; and

at least one program stored in the memory and configured for being executable by the at least one processor,

wherein the program comprises at least one instruction, which, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to perform a method including displaying a plurality of dialog windows on the touchscreen, receiving a message via an input window displayed on the touchscreen, selecting at least one dialog window among the plurality of dialog windows, and transmitting the message to one of the plurality of dialog windows.

12. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein an instruction for displaying the plurality of dialog windows comprises:

displaying a first dialog window for providing a first object and a message service using a first application,

when a second dialog window display event for providing a second object and a message service using the first application occurs, reducing and displaying the first dialog window, and

displaying the first dialog window and the second dialog window.

13. The electronic device of claim 12, wherein the processor executes an instruction for, after displaying the first dialog window for providing the first object and the message service using the first application, when the second dialog window display event for providing the second object and the message service using a second application occurs, reducing and displaying the first dialog window;

and

displaying the first dialog window and the second dialog window.

14. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the instruction for displaying the plurality of dialog windows comprises:

obtaining display data from applications of the plurality of dialog windows; and

displaying the plurality of dialog windows using the display data.

15. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the processor further executes an instruction for, after displaying the plurality of dialog windows, detecting a gesture for a corresponding dialog window;

and

when detecting the gesture for the corresponding dialog window, changing the dialog window according to a direction of the gesture for the corresponding dialog window.

16. The electronic device of claim 15, wherein the processor further executes an instruction for, when detecting the gesture for the corresponding dialog window, changing the dialog window according to a region of the corresponding dialog window where the gesture has been detected.

17. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the processor further executes an instruction for, when a magnify event for one of the plurality of dialog windows occurs, magnifying and displaying the corresponding dialog window,

wherein when a reduce event for the corresponding magnified dialog window occurs, the plurality of dialog windows are displayed.

18. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the instruction for receiving the message comprises:

displaying a touch keypad on the touchscreen;

receiving a message on the input window via the touch keypad; and

determining a message input to the input window.

19. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the instruction for selecting the at least one dialog window comprises:

detecting a gesture; and

transmitting a message to at least one of the plurality of dialog windows with consideration of a direction of the gesture.

20. The electronic device of claim 19, wherein the gesture is directed toward two or more of the plurality of dialog windows, and

wherein the message is transmitted to two or more of the plurality of windows according to the directions of the gesture.
