1. A touch screen method comprising:

  • providing a touch screen having a transparent capacitive sensing medium, the transparent capacitive sensing medium including a first layer having a plurality of first conductive lines that are electrically isolated from one another and formed from a transparent conductive material and a second layer spatially separated from the first layer and having a plurality of second conductive lines that are electrically isolated from one another and formed from a transparent conductive material, the plurality of second conductive lines crossing the plurality of first conductive lines at sensing points positioned at different locations in the plane of the touch screen;

    driving the plurality of sensing points of the touch screen using the plurality of first conductive lines;

    reading outputs from the plurality of sensing points using the plurality of second conductive lines;

    producing and analyzing images of the touch screen plane at different moments in time in order to determine touch events when objects touch the touch screen; and

    comparing a current image to a past image in order to determine a change in touch events.
