Abstract

The present invention features interferon-free therapies for the treatment of HCV. Preferably, the treatment is over a shorter duration, such as no more than 12 weeks. In one aspect, the therapies comprise administering at least two direct acting antiviral agents and ribavirin to a subject with HCV infection. For example, the therapies comprise administering to the subject effective amounts of therapeutic agent 1, therapeutic agent 2 (or therapeutic agent 3), an inhibitor of cytochrome P450 (e.g., ritonavir), and ribavirin.

Claims

1. A method of treatment for HCV, comprising administering at least two direct acting antiviral agents (DAAs) and ribavirin to an HCV treatment-naï

ve patient infected with HCV genotype 1, wherein said treatment does not include administration of interferon to said patient, and said treatment lasts for 8 weeks, wherein said at least two DAAs comprise PSI-7977 and GS-5885;

or said at least two DAAs comprise Compound 1

2. The method of claim 1, wherein said patient is infected with HCV genotype 1a.

The method of claim 1, wherein said at least two DAAs comprise Compound 1, Compound 2 and Compound 4, and Compound 1 is administered at 150 mg once daily together with 100 mg ritonavir once daily, and Compound 4 is administered at 25 mg once daily, and Compound 2 is administered at 400 mg twice daily, and wherein Compound 1, ritonavir and Compound 4 are co-formulated in a single composition.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein said at least two DAAs comprise PSI-7977 and GS-5885, and PSI-7977 is administered at 400 mg once daily, and GS-5885 is administered at 90 mg once daily, and wherein PSI-7977 and GS-5885 are co-formulated in a single composition.

The method of claim 1, wherein said at least two DAAs comprise PSI-7977 and GS-5885, and said patient is infected with HCV genotype 1b, wherein PSI-7977 is administered at 400 mg once daily, GS-5885 is administered at 90 mg once daily, and PSI-7977 and GS-5885 are co-formulated in a single composition.
