Abstract

An electronic circuit in a fishing lure in the water is activated to broadcast a pre-recorded actual or simulated sound of a bait creature and or create lifelike bait creature motion. A switch in the lure activates a sound chip and a micro speaker, a water sensing automatic on-off switch turns the power on and off, and the battery is charged by an external charging coil. An alternate embodiment automatically activates the fishing lure device to replicate bait animals in size, shape, movement and sound.

Claims

1. A bait sound and motion producing apparatus connected to a fishing line held by a fisherman, the apparatus comprising:

a waterproof body encasing an electronic circuit and a set of motion components;

the electronic circuit comprises a memory chip, a motion switch, a speaker, a moisture sensing switch, and a battery;

the memory chip connected to the speaker and the motion switch, where the motion switch has a first state and a second state;

the memory chip connected to the moisture sensing switch and the battery, where the memory chip includes bait sound stored thereon;

the moisture sensing switch connected to a set of sensing elements, where the set of sensing elements extends externally of the body;

the set of motion components comprises, a motivator, connected to the battery and the moisture sensing switch, for moving an appendage of the waterproof body;

whereby the apparatus is activated when placed in water and the bait sound is broadcast and the motivator imparts motion to the apparatus when the motion switch is moved from the first state to the second state.

2. The apparatus claim 1 further comprising:

an inductance pickup coil connected to the battery;

a charger including a receptacle and a mating inductance coupling coil adjacent the receptacle;

whereby the battery is recharged when the apparatus rests in the receptacle and the inductance pickup coil is adjacent the mating inductance coupling coil.

3. The apparatus of claim 2 further comprising:

a battery protection circuit operatively connected to the battery, a full wave bridge rectifier, and the moisture sensing switch and where the full wave bridge rectifier is further connected to the inductance pickup coil.

4. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein the charger includes a plurality of receptacles and a plurality of mating inductance coupling coils, each adjacent one of the plurality of receptacles.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the body is shaped to resemble a bait creature selected from the group consisting of a frog, a crayfish, a shad, a hatchling alligator, a cricket, a bream, a shrimp, and a mouse.

The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the bait sound stored on the memory chip includes a sound selected from the group consisting of a frog ribbit sound, a crayfish clicking sound, a shad rattling buzzing sound, a hatchling gator squeaking sound, a basspop cricket sound, a small fish sound, a shrimp tail snap sound, and a mouse squeaking sound.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the electronic circuit components and the set of motion components are encased in a pod, where the pod is removably positioned in the body.

8. A fishing lure comprising:

a body having an exterior surface;

a connector adjacent the exterior surface

an electronic circuit comprising;

a microchip having a stored prerecorded sound;

a speaker operatively connected to the microchip;

a motion switch connected to the microchip;

a battery, operatively connected to the microchip;

an inductance pickup coil, connected to the microchip; and

,

a moisture sensing switch, connected to the microchip;

a set of sensing elements connected to the microchip and extending outside the exterior surface;

whereby the microchip is activated when the set of sensing elements detect moisture; and

whereby applying a generally outward force on the connector activates the motion switch and causes the stored prerecorded sound to be played by the microchip on the speaker.

9. The fishing lure of claim 8 wherein the body is shaped to resemble a bait creature selected from the group consisting of a frog, a crayfish, a shad, a hatchling alligator, a cricket, a bream, a shrimp, and a mouse.

The fishing lure of claim 8 wherein the prerecorded sound stored on the microchip include a sound selected from the group consisting of a frog ribbit sound, a crayfish clicking sound, a shad rattling buzzing sound, a hatchling gator squeaking sound, a basspop cricket sound, a small fish sound, a shrimp tail snap sound, and a mouse squeaking sound.

11. The fishing lure of claim 8 further comprising:

a charging station having a receptacle, for engagement with the body, adjacent a mating inductance coupling coil; and

,

whereby the battery is recharged when the body is seated in the receptacle and the inductance pickup coil is adjacent the mating inductance coupling coil.

12. The fishing lure of claim 8 further comprising:

a motor connected to the battery and the moisture sensing switch, where a rotary shaft extends from the motor and is adjacent a pivoting block;

a paddle connected to the pivoting block; and

,

whereby applying a generally outward force on the connector activates the motion switch and causes the pivoting block to impart motion to the paddle.

13. The fishing lure of claim 8 further comprising:

wherein the body has a first position and a second position; and

whereby when the body is in the second position, the motion switch is activated.

14. The fishing lure of claim 8 wherein the body contains a removable waterproof pod and the pod contains the electric circuit.

15. The fishing lure of claim 14 wherein the pod is comprised of buoyant material.

16. A method for mimicking bait sounds and bait movement with a fishing lure where the fishing lure includes a body, a moisture sensing switch, a motion switch, a speaker, and a motivator, the method comprising the steps of:

activating the lure by placing the moisture sensing switch in contact with water;

triggering the motion switch;

broadcasting bait sounds; and

,

imparting bait movement.

17. The method of claim 16 where the step of triggering the motion switch further includes tugging on a fishing line connected to the fishing lure.

18. The method of claim 16 where the step of triggering the motion switch further includes tilting the fishing lure from a first position to a second position.

19. The method of claim 16 where the step of broadcasting further includes broadcasting a sound selected from the group consisting of a frog ribbit sound, a crayfish clicking sound, a shad rattling buzzing sound, a hatchling gator squeaking sound, a basspop cricket sound, a small fish sound, a shrimp tail snap sound, and a mouse squeaking sound.

20. The method of claim 16 where the step of imparting bait movement further includes moving an appendage of the body with the motivator.
