Abstract

A system and method for providing a dating service using dating cards with unique QR code/s. A registered member of the dating service acquires one or more dating cards with unique QR codes and presents the card a potential date. When the potential date scans the QR code, the potential date is forwarded to personal information of the registered member. The potential date therefore can appraise the merits of the registered member based on the personal information and decide whether to establish further contact. Preferably, the dating card has a detachable tab with a unique QR code that correlates to the QR code on the card that is handed to the potential date for tracking and access control purposes. Each card can reveal a partial or different façade of the personal information and display a different personal greeting message.

Claims

1. A method for initiating contact for the purpose of dating comprising the steps of:

a. printing/manufacturing a dating card comprising;

(i) a Potential Date (PD) segment including a unique QR code embodied thereon, and

(ii) a Tracking segment, including a unique tracking QR code embodied thereon which corresponds to said unique QR code on said PD segment;

b. transferring said PD segment to a PD;

c. retaining, by an owner of said dating card, said tracking segment;

wherein scanning said unique tracking QR code provides a hypertext link to an editable version of an online profile webpage stored in a dating service database and registered to an owner of the dating card, said online profile webpage including at least an editable greeting message platform for preparing a unique greeting message; and

wherein scanning only said unique QR code provides a unique hypertext link to a non-editable version of said online profile webpage including said unique greeting message prepared for said PD by said owner.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein said online profile webpage is a unique online profile webpage, viewable only upon scanning said unique QR code and following said provided unique hypertext link.

3. A dating card comprising:

(a) a Potential Date (PD) segment including a unique QR code; and

(b) a Tracking segment, including a unique tracking QR code which corresponds to said unique QR code in said PD segment;

wherein scanning said unique tracking QR code provides a hypertext link to an editable version of an online profile webpage stored in a dating service database and registered to an owner of the dating card, said online profile webpage including at least an editable greeting message platform for preparing a unique greeting message; and

wherein scanning only said unique QR code provides a unique hypertext link to a non-editable version of said online profile webpage including said unique greeting message prepared for said PD by said owner.

4. The dating card of claim 3, further comprising:

(c) a coupon segment including a unique QR code-enabled coupon embodied thereon, said coupon redeemable with a given sponsor registered with said dating service, wherein upon scanning of said unique QR code-enabled coupon with a personal computing device, said given sponsor receives segmentation information related to said personal computing device vis-à

-vis personal information stored in at least one registered account of an online network.

5. The dating card of claim 4, wherein said online profile webpage includes advertising information from said given sponsor.

6. The dating card of claim 5, wherein said advertising information is customized according to said segmentation information.

7. The dating card of claim 4, wherein said given sponsor provides customized advertising information to an owner of said at least one registered account, said customization based on said received segmentation information.
