Abstract

In one embodiment, a content item and a feedback user-interface (UI) element associated with the content item may be displayed on a user device. The feedback UI element enables a user to provide feedback with respect to the content item. In response to a user interaction with the feedback UI element, an animation sequence featuring the feedback UI element is displayed on the user device.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

displaying a content item on a first electronic device;

displaying a feedback user-interface (UI) element in association with the content item on the first electronic device; and

in response to a user interaction with the feedback UI element, displaying an animation sequence on the first electronic device.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the animation sequence features the feedback UI element.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the animation sequence depicts the feedback UI element first recedes backward while decreasing in size and then advances forward while increasing in size.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the animation sequence depicts a ripple effect involving the feedback UI element.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein in response to a user interaction with the feedback UI element, displaying an animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises:

in response to a first type of user interaction with the feedback UI element, displaying a first animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises; and

in response to a second type of user interaction with the feedback UI element, displaying a second animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising

in response to the user interaction with the feedback UI element, notifying a second electronic device of the user interaction with the feedback UI element in association with the content item.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the second electronic device is associated with a social-networking system.

8. One or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media embodying software that is operable when executed to:

display a content item on a first electronic device;

display a feedback user-interface (UI) element in association with the content item on the first electronic device; and

in response to a user interaction with the feedback UI element, display an animation sequence on the first electronic device.

9. The media of claim 8, wherein the animation sequence features the feedback UI element.

10. The media of claim 8, wherein the animation sequence depicts the feedback UI element first recedes backward while decreasing in size and then advances forward while increasing in size.

11. The media of claim 8, wherein the animation sequence depicts a ripple effect involving the feedback UI element.

12. The media of claim 8, wherein in response to a user interaction with the feedback UI element, display an animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises:

in response to a first type of user interaction with the feedback UI element, display a first animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises; and

in response to a second type of user interaction with the feedback UI element, display a second animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises.

13. The media of claim 8, wherein the software is further operable when executed to in response to the user interaction with the feedback UI element, notify a second electronic device of the user interaction with the feedback UI element in association with the content item.

14. The media of claim 13, wherein the second electronic device is associated with a social-networking system.

15. A system comprising:

one or more processors; and

a memory coupled to the processors comprising instructions executable by the processors, the processors operable when executing the instructions to;

display a content item on a first electronic device;

display a feedback user-interface (UI) element in association with the content item on the first electronic device; and

in response to a user interaction with the feedback UI element, display an animation sequence on the first electronic device.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the animation sequence features the feedback UI element.

17. The system of claim 15, wherein the animation sequence depicts the feedback UI element first recedes backward while decreasing in size and then advances forward while increasing in size.

18. The system of claim 15, wherein the animation sequence depicts a ripple effect involving the feedback UI element.

19. The system of claim 15, wherein in response to a user interaction with the feedback UI element, display an animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises:

in response to a first type of user interaction with the feedback UI element, display a first animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises; and

in response to a second type of user interaction with the feedback UI element, display a second animation sequence on the first electronic device comprises.

20. The system of claim 15, wherein the processors are further operable when executing the instructions to

in response to the user interaction with the feedback UI element, notify a second electronic device of the user interaction with the feedback UI element in association with the content item.
