Abstract

Embodiments include systems and methods comprising a gateway located at a premise forming at least one network on the premise that includes a plurality of premise devices. A sensor user interface (SUI) is coupled to the gateway and presented to a user via a remote device. The SUI includes at least one display element. The at least one display element includes a floor plan display that represents at least one floor of the premise. The floor plan display visually and separately indicates a location and a current state of each premise device of the plurality of premise devices.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a gateway located at a premise and forming at least one network on the premise that includes a plurality of premise devices; and

a sensor user interface (SUI) coupled to the gateway and presented to a user via a remote device, wherein the SUI comprises at least one display element that includes a floor plan display representing at least one floor of the premise, wherein the floor plan display includes a plurality of system icons that represent location and state of the plurality of premise devices, wherein control of the plurality of premises devices is accessed via the plurality of system icons, wherein the SUI includes an edit mode for generating the floor plan display to represent the premise and placing the plurality of system icons on the floor plan display.

2. A system comprising:

a security network comprising a gateway at a premise coupled to a security system that includes security system components located at the premise, wherein the gateway is coupled to a remote network;

a subnetwork coupled to the gateway, wherein the subnetwork comprises a plurality of premise devices located at the premise; and

a sensor user interface (SUI) coupled to the gateway and presented to a user via a plurality of remote client devices, wherein the SUI comprises at least one display element that includes a floor plan display that represents at least one floor of the premise, wherein the at least one display element includes a plurality of system icons displayed on the floor plan display and representing location and status of the security system components and the plurality of premise devices, wherein the SUI includes an edit mode for generating the floor plan display to represent the premise and placing the plurality of system icons on the floor plan display.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the SUI includes a security button that enables control of the security system.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the security button enables arming of the security system.

5. The system of claim 3, wherein the security button enables disarming of the security system.

6. The system of claim 2, wherein the at least one floor comprises a plurality of floors.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein the SUI comprises a plurality of floor icons, wherein each floor icon corresponds to one of the plurality of floors.

8. The system of claim 2, wherein the plurality of system icons includes a plurality of sensor icons, wherein each sensor icon represents a location and a state of a security system component corresponding to the sensor icon.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the plurality of system icons includes a plurality of device icons, wherein each device icon represents a location and a state of a premise device corresponding to the device icon.

10. The system of claim 9, comprising a popup display that is displayed in response to a touch of a system icon of the plurality of system icons.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein the popup display includes a name of the security system component corresponding to the sensor icon that was touched and information of the security system component.

12. The system of claim 10, wherein the popup display includes a name of the premise device corresponding to the device icon that was touched.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the popup display includes a link to information of the premise device.

14. The system of claim 2, wherein the edit mode comprises a plurality of floor plans, wherein each floor plan of the plurality of floor plans defines a perimeter shape of a floor and corresponds to a floor plan icon that is selectable by a user for the floor plan display.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the edit mode comprises at least one of adding walls and deleting walls.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the edit mode comprises adding a wall on the floor plan display, wherein the adding of the wall comprises forming the wall to have a length and placing the wall at a location on the floor plan display.

17. The system of claim 15, wherein the edit mode comprises deleting at least a portion of a wall from the floor plan display.

18. The system of claim 15, wherein the edit mode comprises placing the plurality of system icons on the floor plan display.

19. The system of claim 18, wherein the edit mode comprises a dock region that includes the plurality of system icons.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein each system icon is dragged from the dock region to a tile of the floor plan display representative of a location in the premise of the security system components and the plurality of premise devices.

21. The system of claim 14, wherein the edit mode comprises at least one control that controls addition and deletion of floors.

22. The system of claim 21, wherein the at least one control comprises an add selector that controls addition of a floor.

23. The system of claim 21, wherein the at least one control comprises a delete selector that controls deletion of a floor.

24. The system of claim 21, wherein the at least one control comprises an add above selector that controls adding a new floor above an existing floor.

25. The system of claim 24, wherein the at least one control comprises an add below selector that controls adding a new floor below an existing floor.

26. The system of claim 2, wherein the subnetwork is formed by the gateway and is external to the gateway.

27. The system of claim 2, wherein the gateway electronically integrates communications and functions of the plurality of premise devices and the security system components into the security network and controls communications between the security system, the subnetwork and the remote network.

28. The system of claim 2, wherein the SUI includes at least one display element for managing and receiving data of the premise devices agnostically across the plurality of remote client devices.

29. The system of claim 2, wherein the plurality of remote client devices include at least one of a touchscreen device, a mobile telephone, a cellular telephone, a client device coupled to the gateway via a mobile portal, and a client device coupled to the gateway via a web portal.

30. A system comprising:

a touchscreen located at a premise and forming at least one network on the premise that includes a plurality of premise devices; and

a sensor user interface (SUI) coupled to the touchscreen and presented to a user via a remote device, wherein the SUI comprises at least one display element that includes a floor plan display representing at least one floor of the premise, wherein the floor plan display includes a plurality of system icons that represent location and state of the plurality of premise devices, wherein control of the plurality of premises devices is accessed via the plurality of system icons, wherein the SUI includes an edit mode for generating the floor plan display to represent the premise and placing the plurality of system icons on the floor plan display.

31. A system comprising:

a security network comprising a touchscreen at a premise coupled to a security system that includes security system components located at the premise, wherein the touchscreen is coupled to a remote network;

a subnetwork coupled to the touchscreen, wherein the subnetwork comprises a plurality of premise devices located at the premise; and

a sensor user interface (SUI) coupled to the touchscreen and presented to a user via a plurality of remote client devices, wherein the SUI comprises at least one display element that includes a floor plan display that represents at least one floor of the premise, wherein the at least one display element includes a plurality of system icons displayed on the floor plan display and representing location and status of the security system components and the plurality of premise devices, wherein the SUI includes an edit mode for generating the floor plan display to represent the premise and placing the plurality of system icons on the floor plan display.
