Abstract

A portable irrigation system comprising a reservoir for an irrigating liquid, a probe for arrangement in a user, an electrical system, a control unit for controlling the transfer of irrigation liquid and tubing providing fluid communication between said reservoir, control unit and probe.

Claims

1. A portable irrigation system comprising:

a reservoir for an irrigating liquid;

a probe for arrangement in a user;

an electrical system, comprising;

an electrical pump for directly or indirectly pumping irrigation liquid from the reservoir to the probe,

a battery for driving said electrical pump;

at least one control switch for activation of the electrical pump; and

wiring connecting said parts to each other;

a control unit for controlling the transfer of said irrigation liquid;

tubing providing fluid communication between said reservoir, control unit and probe;

wherein said control unit comprises a waterproof housing enclosing at least said battery and;

wherein, the electrical system is galvanically isolated from the exterior of the irrigation system, and wherein said battery is chargeable through inductive charging.

2. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the control unit further comprises at least one control element, such as a control button, arranged on the surface of said housing for operating said control switch(es).

3. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the electrical pump is a submersible pump, and arranged within the reservoir.

4. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the electrical pump is arranged within the control unit.

5. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the control unit is arranged at a distance from both the reservoir and the probe, and being connected to the reservoir and probe, respectively, through said tubing.

6. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein control unit is programmable, and preferably to set at least one of:

total irrigation liquid volume to be discharged and irrigation liquid discharge flow rate.

7. The irrigation system of claim 6, wherein control unit is set to at least one of:

total irrigation liquid volume to be discharged and irrigation liquid discharge flow rate.

8. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein control unit comprises at least two control elements.

9. The irrigation system of claim 8, wherein at least one of the control element(s) is a multi-purpose control element having different functions in different operation states.

10. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the electrical pump is useable both for pumping irrigation liquid for discharge through the probe and for pumping a fluid for filling of an inflatable retention member on the probe.

11. The irrigation system of claim 10, wherein the control unit further comprises a valve for releasing fluid from the retention member for deflation, said valve being controllable by a control element.

13. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the electrical pump is useable for pumping irrigation liquid for discharge through the probe, and wherein a second pump is provided for inflation of an inflatable retention member on the probe.

14. The irrigation system of claim 13, wherein the control unit further comprises a valve for releasing fluid from the retention member for deflation, said valve being controllable by a control element, and preferably a control button.

15. The irrigation system of claim 14, wherein the control element is a control button.

16. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the control unit is remotely controllable by a remote control arranged to communicate with the control unit via wireless communication.

17. The irrigation system of claim 16, wherein the remote control is at least one of:

a smart phone, a tablet computer and a laptop computer.

18. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the control unit is arranged to transmit operation related data to a remote unit via wireless communication.

19. The irrigation system of claim 1, wherein the control unit further comprises a display.

20. Use of the irrigation device according to claim 1 for rectal irrigation.

12. The irrigation system of claim 12, wherein the control element is a control button.
