Abstract

A method for providing a context awareness service is provided. The method includes defining a control command for the context awareness service depending on a user input, triggering a playback mode and the context awareness service in response to a user selection, receiving external audio through a microphone in the playback mode, determining whether the received audio corresponds to the control command, and executing a particular action assigned to the control command when the received audio corresponds to the control command.

Claims

1. A method for providing a context awareness service, the method comprising:

defining a control command for the context awareness service depending on a user input;

triggering a playback mode and the context awareness service in response to a user selection;

receiving external audio through a microphone in the playback mode;

determining whether the received audio corresponds to the control command; and

executing a particular action assigned to the control command when the received audio corresponds to the control command.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the determining of whether the received audio corresponds to the control command includes:

analyzing a gain of the received audio and performing speech recognition when the gain of the received audio satisfies a given condition; and

comparing an audio recognized through the speech recognition with the control command.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the performing of the speech recognition includes:

analyzing the gain of the received audio;

comparing the gain of the received audio with a reference gain; and

performing the speech recognition when the gain of the received audio is greater than the reference gain.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the reference gain includes a specific value defined by a user and an average value of audio inputs received through the microphone.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the determining of whether the received audio corresponds to the control command includes determining whether the received audio agrees with the control command or includes the control command.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein the executing of the particular action includes controlling the playback mode when the received audio corresponds to the control command.

7. The method of claim 6, further comprising:

outputting context information corresponding to execution of the particular action.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the outputting of the context information includes resuming the controlled playback mode.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the control command is entered in the form of voice or text based on a natural language.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the triggering of the context awareness service is performed when a headset is connected to a user device.

11. The method of claim 7, wherein the outputting of the context information is performed to be perceived by at least one of sight, hearing and touch.

12. A user device comprising:

a microphone configured to receive external audio;

a memory unit configured to store a command table which includes mapping relations from among a user-defined control command, a particular action according to the control command, and context information;

a speech recognition unit configured to perform speech recognition to recognize a user context in a context awareness service; and

a control unit configured to define the control command for the context awareness service depending on a user'"'"'s input, and to execute the particular action mapped with a specific audio corresponding to the control command when the specific audio is received through the microphone.

13. The user device of claim 12, further comprising:

a display unit configured to display a screen interface for setting the control command and to display the context information corresponding to execution of the particular action.

14. The user device of claim 13, wherein the control unit is further configured to control the display unit to display the context information corresponding to execution of the particular action.

15. The user device of claim 12, wherein the control unit is further configured to analyze a gain of the received audio, to compare the gain of the received audio with a reference gain, and to perform the speech recognition when the gain of the received audio is greater than the reference gain.

16. The user device of claim 12, wherein the control unit is further configured to control a playback mode according to the particular action when the audio corresponds to the control command is received, to output the context information to be perceived by at least one of sight, hearing and touch, and to resume the controlled playback mode after the context information is outputted.

17. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having recorded thereon a program configured to define a control command for a context awareness service depending on a user input, and to execute a particular action mapped to a specific audio input corresponding to the control command when the specific audio input is received through a microphone.
