1. A method comprising:

  • receiving, at a proxy server and over a period, notifications from a remote server, the notifications to be transmitted to multiple computing devices associated with a user, one of the computing devices being a primary computing device which is used by the user more often than the remaining of the computing devices;

    transmitting, by the proxy server, the notifications to the primary computing device as and when they are received from the remote server;

    determining, by the proxy server, that while a first location proximity between the primary computing device and a first computing device of the remaining computing devices exceeds a specific threshold, a second location proximity between the primary computing device and a second computing device of the remaining computing devices is below a specific threshold;

    transmitting, by the proxy server, the notifications to the first computing device;

    storing, by the proxy server, the notifications meant to the second computing device at a storage device associated with the proxy server;

    determining, by the proxy server, that while the first location proximity is decreasing, the second location proximity is increasing; and

    responsive to a determination that while the first location proximity is decreasing the second location proximity is increasing,decreasing, by the proxy server, a frequency of transmission of the notifications to the first computing device,determining that the second location proximity exceeds a specific threshold,transmitting, by the proxy server, the notifications to the second computing device, andincreasing a frequency of transmission of the notifications as the second location proximity increases.
