Abstract

A method for providing a graphical user interface on a display of a device includes: displaying a photograph an image on the display of the device, receiving a touch input made on the display, superimposedly displaying a plurality of control guides at a location corresponding to the touch input over the displayed photograph image in response to receiving the touch input, receiving a drag input corresponding to one of the plurality of control guides displayed on the display, removing adjusting a display characteristic of at least one of the plurality of control guides in response to receiving the drag input, and displaying the adjusted plurality of control guides on the display.

Claims

1. A method for providing a graphical user interface on a display of a device, the method comprising:

displaying an image on the display of the device;

receiving a touch input made on the display;

superimposedly displaying a plurality of control guides over the displayed image in response to receiving the touch input;

receiving a drag input on the display;

adjusting a display characteristic of at least one of the plurality of control guides in response to receiving the drag input; and

displaying the adjusted plurality of control guides on the display.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the display characteristic comprises a position of the plurality of control guides on the display.

The method according to claim 2, wherein the plurality of control guides are superimposedly displayed at a first location on the display in response to receiving the touch input and the adjusted plurality of control guides are displayed at a second location on the display in response to receiving the drag input.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the display characteristic comprises at least one of a transparency, a contrast, a color, a size, and text information describing a control command corresponding to at least one of the plurality of control guides.

5. The method according to claim 4, further comprising:

determining a drag characteristic value of the drag.

6. The method according to claim 5, wherein the drag characteristic value of the drag comprises at least one of a distance, a velocity, and a direction of the drag.

7. The method according to claim 6, wherein the adjusting comprises adjusting the display characteristic of the at least one of the plurality of control guides based on the at least one of the distance, the velocity, and the direction of the drag.

8. The method according to claim 6, wherein the drag corresponds to one of the plurality of control guides, and

wherein the method further comprises:

determining a control command to be executed corresponding to the one of the plurality of control guides and the at least one of the distance, the velocity, and the direction of the drag; and

executing a function of the device corresponding to the determined control command.

9. The method according to claim 8, wherein the adjusting comprises:

adjusting the display characteristic of the one of the plurality of control guides.

10. The method according to claim 9, wherein the adjusting further comprises:

omitting control guides of the plurality of control guides that are not adjusted from the display.

11. The method according to claim 6, wherein the adjusting comprises adjusting the display characteristic of all of the plurality of control guides.

12. The method according to claim 6, further comprising:

detecting a characteristic of the image at a position of the drag, and wherein the adjusting comprises adjusting the display characteristic of the at least one of the plurality of control guides based on the at least one of the distance, the velocity, and the direction of the drag and the characteristic of the image at the position of the drag.

13. The method according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of control guides are a plurality of directional arrows superimposed over the displayed image.

14. The method according to claim 13, wherein the plurality of control guides are respectively associated with a plurality of different controls that adjust display characteristics of the photograph image.

15. The method according to claim 13, wherein the plurality of control guides are associated with text information describing the adjusting the display characteristic.

16. The method according to claim 13, wherein the plurality of directional arrows are respectively arranged to indicate different directions.

17. The method according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of control guides correspond to a plurality of functions for adjusting a display characteristic of the image, and

wherein the display characteristic is at least one of a brightness of the image and a magnification of the image.

18. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having recorded thereon a program, which when executed by a computer causes the computer to execute a method for providing a graphical user interface on a display of a device, the method comprising:

displaying an image on the display of the device;

receiving a touch input made on the display;

superimposedly displaying a plurality of control guides over the displayed image in response to receiving the touch input;

receiving a drag input on the display;

adjusting a display characteristic of at least one of the plurality of control guides in response to receiving the drag input; and

displaying the adjusted plurality of control guides on the display.

19. A display device comprising:

a display configured to display an image;

a memory configured to store display characteristics of a plurality of control guides; and

a processor configured to control the display to display an image on the display, receive a touch input made on the display, superimposedly display a plurality of control guides over the displayed image in response to receiving the touch input, receive receiving a drag input on the display, adjust a display characteristic of at least one of the plurality of control guides in response to receiving the drag input;

display the adjusted plurality of control guides on the display.
