Abstract

Methods, system and devices for providing improved calibration accuracy of continuous glucose monitoring system based on insulin delivery information are provided.

Claims

1. A method implemented using one or more processors, the method comprising:

determining one or more parameters associated with a system check routine corresponding to a detected system check start event; and

executing the system check routine based on the one or more determined parameters including medication delivery information.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the detected system check start event includes monitoring an elapsed time period from an initial positioning of an analyte sensor.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the detected system check start event is based at least in part on a predetermined schedule.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the determined one or more parameters includes an amount of insulin delivered, a time period of the delivered insulin, an insulin sensitivity parameter, an insulin on board information, an exercise information, a meal intake information, an activity information, or one or more combinations thereof.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the medication delivery information includes an insulin delivery amount and time information relative to the detected system check start event.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein executing the system check routine includes delaying the system check routine by a predetermined time period.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the system check routine is not executed when one of the one or more determined parameters deviates from a predetermined threshold level.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the predetermined threshold level is dynamically modified based on a variation in at least one of the one or more determined parameters.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein executing the system check routine includes one or more of determining a reference measurement value, determining a sensitivity value associated with an analyte sensor, or calibrating an analyte sensor.

10. A device, comprising:

one or more processors; and

a memory operatively coupled to the one or more processors, the memory for storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to determine one or more parameters associated with a system check routine corresponding to a detected system check start event, and to execute the system check routine based on the one or more determined parameters including medication delivery information.

11. The device of claim 10, wherein the memory for storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to monitor an elapsed time period from an initial positioning of an analyte sensor to detect the system check start event.

12. The device of claim 10, wherein the memory for storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to detect the system check start event based at least in part on a predetermined schedule.

13. The device of claim 10, wherein the determined one or more parameters includes an amount of insulin delivered, a time period of the delivered insulin, an insulin sensitivity parameter, an insulin on board information, an exercise information, a meal intake information, an activity information, or one or more combinations thereof.

14. The device of claim 10, wherein the medication delivery information includes an insulin delivery amount and time information relative to the detected system check start event.

15. The device of claim 10, wherein the memory for storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to execute the system check routine by delaying the system check routine by a predetermined time period.

16. The device of claim 10, wherein the system check routine is not executed when one of the one or more determined parameters deviates from a predetermined threshold level.

17. The device of claim 16, wherein the predetermined threshold level is dynamically modified based on a variation in at least one of the one or more determined parameters.

18. The device of claim 10, wherein the memory for storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to execute the system check routine by determining a reference measurement value, determining a sensitivity value associated with an analyte sensor, or calibrating an analyte sensor, or one or more combinations thereof.

19. A method implemented using one or more processors, the method comprising:

detecting a system check start event associated with an initialized analyte sensor;

determining one or more parameters associated with an insulin dose administration; and

executing a system check routine based on the one or more determined parameters.
