Abstract

A weight screw for a golf club head having one or more weight ports is disclosed herein. A set of weight screws is also disclosed herein, the set comprising at least one low-weight screw comprising multiple materials and at least one weight screw comprising a single material.

Claims

1. A screw for a golf club head having at least one opening sized to receive the screw, the screw comprising:

a head; and

an extension portion comprising external threads,

wherein the head comprises;

an upper portion sized to close the at least one opening;

a lower portion disposed beneath the upper portion; and

an engagement bore,

wherein the extension portion is disposed beneath the cylindrical lower portion, and

wherein the lower portion comprises one or more holes.

2. The screw of claim 1, wherein the head and extension portion are integrally formed.

3. The screw of claim 2, wherein the screw is composed of a metal material.

4. The screw of claim 3, wherein the metal material is an aluminum alloy.

5. The screw of claim 3, wherein the metal material is a tungsten alloy.

18. A set of screws, the set comprising at least one screw of claim 1 and at least one screw of claim 6.

20. A set of screws, the set comprising at least one screw of claim 1 and at least one screw of claim 12.

6. A screw for a golf club head having at least one opening sized to receive the screw, the screw comprising:

a cap portion comprising a lateral extension region sized to close the at least one opening, a lower portion, and through bore; and

a support portion comprising a docking portion, a lateral stop, and a threaded extension portion,

wherein the cap portion is made of a non-metal material,

wherein the support portion is made of a metal material,

wherein the through bore is sized to receive the docking portion,

wherein the docking portion comprises exterior threads, and

wherein the through bore comprises interior threads sized to mate with the exterior threads of the docking portion.

7. The screw of claim 6, wherein the docking portion comprises an engagement bore.

8. The screw of claim 6, wherein the non-metal material is selected from the group consisting of plastic and composite.

9. The screw of claim 8, wherein the non-metal material is injection-molded plastic.

10. The screw of claim 6, wherein the metal material is selected from the group consisting of steel, titanium, tungsten alloy, and aluminum alloy.

11. The screw of claim 6, wherein the lower portion rests against the lateral stop.

12. A screw for a golf club head having at least one at least one opening sized to receive the screw, the screw comprising:

a cap portion comprising a lateral extension region sized to close the at least one opening, a lower portion, and through bore; and

a support portion comprising a docking portion, a lateral stop, and a threaded extension portion,

wherein the cap portion is made of a non-metal material,

wherein the support portion is made of a metal material,

wherein the through bore is sized to receive the docking portion, and

wherein the through bore is coated with an adhesive to engage the docking extension.

13. The screw of claim 12, wherein the docking portion comprises an engagement bore.

14. The screw of claim 12, wherein the non-metal material is selected from the group consisting of plastic and composite.

15. The screw of claim 14, wherein the non-metal material is injection-molded plastic.

16. The screw of claim 12, wherein the metal material is selected from the group consisting of steel, titanium, tungsten alloy, and aluminum alloy.

17. The screw of claim 12, wherein the lower portion rests against the lateral stop.

19. A set of screws, the set comprising at least one screw of claim 6 and at least one screw of claim 12.
