PATHWAY PLANNING SYSTEM AND METHOD
First Claim
1. A system for planning a pathway through an anatomical luminal network of a patient, the system comprising:
- memory storing a computer program configured to analyze and manipulate CT images;
a processor configured to execute the computer program; and
a display device configured to display a user interface of the computer program, the user interface comprising;
a CT image window configured to display a slice of CT image data;
a localizer window configured to display an image of at least one lung, the localizer window including a localizer configured to identify a location of the displayed slice relative to the at least one lung; and
a target selection element configured to select a target from a displayed slice of CT image data in response to a user input.

Abstract
A system and method for planning a pathway through an anatomical luminal network of a patient including memory storing a computer program configured to analyze and manipulate CT images, a processor configured to execute the computer program, and a display device configured to display a user interface of the computer program. The user interface includes a CT image window configured to display a slice of CT image data, a localizer window configured to display an image of at least one lung, the localizer window including a localizer configured to identify a location of the displayed slice relative to the at least one lung, and a target selection element configured to select a target from a displayed slice of CT image data in response to a user input.

8. A method for planning a pathway through an anatomical luminal network of a patient, the method comprising the steps of:
-
displaying a first slice of CT image data in a CT image window; displaying an image of at least one lung in a localizer window; setting a location element of the localizer window on the image of at least one lung at a first location corresponding to the location of the first slice relative to the at least one lung; receiving a user input; displaying a second slice of CT image data in the CT image window in response to the user input; and setting the location element of the localizer window on the image of the at least one lung at a second location corresponding to the location of the second slice relative to the at least one lung. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)

15. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium encoded with a program that, when executed by a processor causes a user interface to perform the steps of:
-
displaying a first slice of CT image data in a CT image window; displaying an image of at least one lung in a localizer window; setting a location element of the localizer window on the image of at least one lung at a first location corresponding to the location of the first slice relative to the at least one lung; receiving a user input; displaying a second slice of CT image data in the CT image window in response to the user input; and setting the location element of the localizer window on the image of the at least one lung at a second location corresponding to the location of the second slice relative to the at least one lung.
