Abstract

Example systems and methods that provide annotations of item descriptions are described. In one implementation, a method accesses data associated with an item and identifies multiple attributes associated with the item. The method further generates a Java class associated with the item and annotates the Java class to include the attributes associated with the item.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

accessing data associated with an item;

identifying a plurality of attributes associated with the item;

generating, using one or more processors, a Java class associated with the item; and

annotating the Java class to include the attributes associated with the item.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the data associated with the item includes at least one of an item class, an item title, an item price, an item author, an item manufacturer, an item description, and item shipping data.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of attributes associated with the item include a validation rule associated with the item.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of attributes associated with the item include a publishing rule associated with the item.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of attributes associated with the item include a display rule associated with the item.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of attributes associated with the item include metadata that defines characteristics of the item.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising compiling the Java class into a runtime environment.

8. The method of claim 7, further comprising communicating the runtime environment to a content management system.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising identifying changes to any of the plurality of attributes associated with the item.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising updating annotations in the Java class based on the identified changes responsive to identifying changes to any of the plurality of attributes associated with the item.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising compiling the Java class with the updated annotations into a runtime environment.

12. A method comprising:

accessing data associated with an item;

identifying a validation rule associated with the item;

generating, using one or more processors, a Java class associated with the item; and

annotating the Java class to include the validation rule associated with the item.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising identifying a publishing rule associated with the item and further annotating the Java class to include the publishing rule associated with the item.

14. The method of claim 12, further comprising identifying a display rule associated with the item and further annotating the Java class to include the display rule associated with the item.

15. The method of claim 12, further comprising compiling the Java class into a runtime environment.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising communicating the runtime environment to a content management system.

17. The method of claim 12, further comprising identifying changes to the validation rule associated with the item.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprising updating annotations in the Java class responsive to identifying changes to the validation rule associated with the item.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising compiling the Java class with the updated annotations into a runtime environment.

20. An apparatus comprising:

a memory to store data associated with at least one item; and

one or more processors coupled to the memory, the one or more processors configured to;

access data associated with the item;

identify a plurality of attributes associated with the item;

generate a Java class associated with the item; and

annotate the Java class to include the attributes associated with the item.
