Abstract

A server includes one or more processors, and a computer readable memory coupled to the one or more processors. The computer readable memory contains instructions which when executed by the one or more processors causes the one or more processors to perform the operations of receiving captured audio via an microphone of a mobile or wearable device at a location remote from the server via a communications module operatively coupled to the mobile or wearable device, analyzing the captured audio to provide analyzed captured audio, and sending information to the communications module in response to the analyzed captured audio, the information including instructions to initiate control of media content or initiate operations of the mobile or wearable device. A method operating at the server and other embodiments are disclosed.

Claims

1. A server, comprising:

one or more processors; and

a computer readable memory coupled to the one or more processors, the computer readable memory containing instructions when executed by the one or more processors causes the one or more processors to perform the operations comprising;

receiving captured audio via an microphone of a mobile device at a location remote from the server via a communications module operatively coupled to the mobile device;

analyzing the captured audio to provide analyzed captured audio; and

sending information to the communications module in response to the analyzed captured audio, the information including instructions to initiate control of media content or initiate operations of the mobile device.

2. The server of claim 1, wherein the communications module is connected to the mobile device.

3. The server of claim 1, wherein the microphone is an ambient microphone or an ear canal microphone.

4. The server of claim 1, wherein the microphone is an ambient microphone communicatively coupled to a logic circuit of the mobile device.

The server of claim 1, wherein the computer readable memory is communicatively coupled to a logic circuit and an interaction element of the mobile device, the interaction element and logic circuit cooperatively initiate control of media content from the mobile device or initiate operations of the mobile device upon executing the instructions from the server.

The server of claim 1, wherein the server receives from the mobile device the captured audio via the microphone and further receives one or more among a location, a global positioning service location, user demographics information, user preference information, a listening history envelope, a listening history profile, or a uniform resource locator address associated with media content being auditioned

7. The server of claim 1, wherein the mobile device comprises eye-wear.

8. The server of claim 1, wherein the mobile device comprises an earphone.

9. The server of claim 1, wherein the mobile device comprises at least a portion of a personal computer system, a personal music player system, a personal monitoring system, an automotive audio system, a home audio system, an avionics audio system, a personal video system, a mobile cell phone system, a personal digital assistant system, a standalone accessory, or an advanced eye-wear system with acoustical transducers.

10. The server of claim 1, wherein the instructions from the server to the mobile device include instructions causing a speaker of the mobile device to provide an audible output.

11. The server of claim 1, wherein the analyzed captured audio is a voice command that causes the server to perform a search of the web and the server provides a web search result to the mobile device to provide in the form of one of text, text to speech, or an image.

The server of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are configured to cooperatively initiate control of the media content of the mobile device and initiate operations of the mobile device in response to analysis of the audio captured at the mobile device at the microphone and analyzed at the remote server in response to instructions received from the remote server.

13. The server of claim 1, wherein the initiating of operations comprises commercial transactional operations.

The server of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors are configured to retrieve specific media content in response to voice commands captured at the mobile device using the ambient microphone, and the mobile device receives results from the remote server in response to speech recognition processing of the voice command at the remote server.

The server of claim 1, wherein the instructions from the server received at the mobile device cause a presentation device operatively coupled to the mobile device to present one or more of text, images, webpages, location information, scheduling information, or audible outputs responsive to detected voice commands at the mobile device and speech recognition results received at the mobile device from the remote server in response to analysis of the detected voice commands at the remote server.

16. A system, comprising:

one or more processors; and

a computer readable memory coupled to the one or more processors, the computer readable memory containing instructions when executed by the one or more processors causes the one or more processors to perform the operations comprising;

receiving captured audio from an microphone of a wearable device at a location remote from the server via a communications module operatively coupled to the wearable device;

analyzing the captured audio to provide analyzed captured audio; and

sending information to the communications module in response to the analyzed captured audio, the information including instructions to initiate control of media content at the wearable device or at a communication device operatively coupled to the wearable device.

The system of claim 16, wherein the one or more processors are at a server remote from the wearable device and wherein the instructions from the server received at the wearable device cause a presentation device operatively coupled to the wearable device to present one or more of text, images, webpages, location information, scheduling information, or audible outputs responsive to detected voice commands at the wearable device.

18. The system of claim 16, wherein the one or more processor are distributed among a remote server, the wearable device, and a communication device separate from the wearable device.

19. The wearable device of claim 16, wherein the one or more processors initiates control of the media content in response to a voice command received and processed by a voice controlled user interface, wherein a remote server receives and analyzes the processed voice command and sends results back to the wearable device.

20. A method at a server, comprising:

receiving, at the server, captured audio via an microphone of a mobile or wearable device at a location remote from the server via a communications module operatively coupled to the mobile or wearable device;

analyzing, at the server, the captured audio to provide analyzed captured audio; and

sending, by the server, information to the communications module in response to the analyzed captured audio, the information including instructions to initiate control of media content or initiate operations of the mobile or wearable device.
