Abstract

Methods and apparatus are provided for data processing. A user gesture is detected. A guidance object is displayed on a screen in response to the user gesture. Data input by a user is received. The data input by the user is displayed with the guidance object on the screen, when the data is received.

Claims

1. A method for data processing in an electronic device, the method comprising the steps of:

detecting a user gesture;

displaying a guidance object on a screen of the electronic device in response to the user gesture;

receiving data input by a user; and

displaying the data input by the user with the guidance object on the screen, when the data is received.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

detecting removal of the user gesture while the data and the guidance object are displayed on the screen; and

removing the guidance object so that only the data is displayed on the screen in response to detecting removal of the user gesture.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein detecting the user gesture comprises detecting placement of an input tool within a predetermined distance above the screen, wherein the screen comprises a touchscreen.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein removal of the user gesture is detected when the input tool is lifted beyond the predetermined distance from the screen.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein displaying the guidance object comprises determining whether a page displayed on the screen has at least one designated guidance object.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein displaying the guidance object comprises:

determining whether the page has a single designated guidance object, when the page has at least one designated guidance object;

displaying the guidance object, when the page has a single designated guidance object; and

selecting one of a plurality of guidance objects in response to a user request and displaying the selected one of the plurality of guidance objects, when the page has more than one designated guidance object.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein displaying the guidance object comprises designating the guidance object, when the page does not have at least one designated guidance object.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein designating the guidance object comprises acquiring at least one guidance object from at least one of inside and outside of the electronic device.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein detecting the user gesture comprises determining whether a guide display mode is on.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein detecting the user gesture comprises determining to display the guidance object, when the guide display mode is on.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein detecting the user gesture comprises performing a predetermined function mapped to the user gesture, when the guide display mode is off.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the guidance object comprises at least one visual object assisting in inputting the data, the at least one visual object comprising at least one of a figure, a symbol, a letter, a picture, a template, and a visual effect.

13. The method of claim 2, further comprising, when the user gesture is detected while only the data is displayed, displaying the guidance object with the data.

14. The method of claim 1, further comprising storing the data.

15. The method of claim 1, further comprising storing a page displayed on the screen in combination with the data.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein storing the data comprises:

mapping the data and link information on the guidance object; and

storing the data with mapping information of the data and the link information.

17. The method of claim 14, wherein storing the data comprises:

combining the data with the guidance object; and

storing the combined data and guidance object.

18. The method of claim 1, wherein the user gesture comprises a hand gestures detectable by various sensors of the electronic device.

19. An apparatus comprising:

a control unit configured to detect a user gesture, and receives data input by a user; and

a screen configured to display a guidance object in response to the user gesture, and display the data input by the user with the guidance object when the data is received.

20. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the control unit comprises:

a page manager configured to display the page for receiving a user input;

a guide manager configured to toggle the guidance object between showing and hiding on the page in response to the user gesture; and

an object manager configured to display the data with or without the guidance object in response to the user input.

21. The apparatus of claim 19, wherein the control unit controls a page of the screen to display the guidance object in response to detection of the user gesture, and to remove the guidance object from the page of the screen in response to removal of the user gesture.

22. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the control unit controls the page of the screen to display the data with the guidance object while the user gesture is maintained, and controls the page of the screen to display the data without the guidance object when the user gesture is not maintained.

23. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs, which when executed implement the steps of:

detecting a user gesture;

displaying a guidance object on a screen in response to the user gesture;

receiving data input by a user; and

displaying the data input by the user with the guidance object on the screen, when the data is received.
