Abstract

A power receiving apparatus receives power wirelessly transmitted by a power transmission apparatus, and stores the received power. The power receiving apparatus includes a communication unit configured to transmit and receive a control signal in a wireless power transmission system. The power receiving apparatus switches a supply source of power to the communication unit when a power storage capacity is less than a threshold value.

Claims

1. A power receiving apparatus comprising:

a power receiving unit configured to receive power wirelessly transmitted by a power transmission apparatus;

a power storage unit configured to store the power received by the power receiving unit;

a communication unit configured to transmit and receive a control signal in a wireless power transmission system; and

a switching unit configured to switch a supply source of power to the communication unit,

wherein the switching unit switches the supply source to the power receiving unit when a power storage capacity of the power storage unit is less than a threshold value.

2. The power receiving apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising an execution unit configured to execute an application to operate by the power storage unit.

3. The power receiving apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the switching unit switches the supply source to the power storage unit based on a state of the application.

4. The power receiving apparatus according to claim 3, wherein the communication unit is used in the application.

5. The power receiving apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the switching unit switches the supply source to the power storage unit when the power storage capacity is greater than or equal to the threshold value.

6. The power receiving apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the communication unit performs communication according to Bluetooth®

, a wireless local area network (LAN) or near field communication (NFC).

7. A control method for controlling a power receiving apparatus, the method comprising:

receiving power wirelessly transmitted by a power transmission apparatus;

storing the received power by a power storage unit;

transmitting and receiving a control signal in a wireless power transmission system by a communication unit; and

switching a supply source of power to the communication unit,

wherein the switching switches supply of the power to supply by the power receiving when a power storage capacity of the power stored by the power storage unit is less than a threshold value.

8. A computer readable storage medium storing computer executable instructions for causing a computer to execute a method, the method comprising:

receiving power wirelessly transmitted by a power transmission apparatus;

storing the received power by a power storage unit;

transmitting and receiving a control signal in a wireless power transmission system by a communication unit; and

switching a supply source of power to the communication unit,

wherein the switching switches supply of the power to supply by the power receiving when a power storage capacity of the power stored by the power storage unit is less than a threshold value.
