Abstract

The present invention discloses a method for supporting a handover to a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell or a hybrid cell in a mobile communication system, and the method includes: sending, by a radio access network (RAN), information indicating that authorized public land mobile network (PLMN) information changes to a user equipment (UE); sending, by the UE, all PLMN identifiers (IDs) broadcasted by a target CSG cell to a source RAN in a measurement report; and selecting, by the source RAN or a source core network(CN), a target PLMN for the UE.

Claims

1. A method for supporting handover to a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell or a hybrid cell in a mobile communication system, comprising:

sending, by a radio access network (RAN), information indicating that authorized public land mobile network (PLMN) information changes to a user equipment (UE);

sending, by the UE, all PLMN identifiers (IDs) broadcasted by a target CSG cell to a source RAN in a measurement report; and

selecting, by the source RAN or a source core network (CN), a target PLMN for the UE.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein sending, by the RAN, information indicating that authorized PLMN information changes to the UE comprises:

sending, by the RAN, the information indicating that the authorized PLMN information changes to the UE if authorized PLMN information received by the RAN from the CN changes.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein sending, by a RAN, information indicating that authorized PLMN information changes to the UE comprises:

if the UE moves from a RAN1 to a RAN2, sending, by the RAN1, the information indicating that the authorized PLMN information changes in a connection mode to the RAN2.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein sending, by the RAN, information indicating that authorized PLMN information changes to the UE comprises:

if the UE moves from a RAN1 to a RAN2, sending, by the CN, the information indicating that the authorized PLMN information changes in a connection mode to the RAN2.

5. The method of claim 3, further comprising:

if the UE moves from a RAN2 to a CSG cell or a hybrid cell, knowing, by the RAN2, that the UE reports all PLMNs broadcasted by a target cell; and

selecting, by the RAN2, the PLMN for the UE or requesting, by the RAN2, the source CN to select the PLMN for the UE.

6. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

if the UE moves from a RAN2 to a CSG cell or a hybrid cell, knowing, by the RAN2, that the UE reports all PLMNs broadcasted by a target cell; and

selecting, by the RAN2, the PLMN for the UE or requesting, by the RAN2, the source CN to select the PLMN for the UE.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein selecting, by the source RAN, the target PLMN for the UE comprises:

filtering out, by the source RAN, a PLMN ID which is the authorized PLMN of the UE from a PLMN list received from the UE;

sending, by the source RAN, a list of the filtered out PLMN ID and a CSG ID of a target cell to the;

according to information of the accessible CSGs of the UE, filtering out, by the CN, a PLMN ID in the PLMN IDs received from the source RAN, wherein the PLMN ID and the CSG ID are in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE;

sending, by the CN, the filtered out PLMN ID to the source RAN; and

selecting, by the RAN, the target PLMN ID for the UE from the received PLMN ID list.

8. The method of claim 5, wherein selecting, by the source RAN, the target PLMN for the UE comprises:

filtering out, by the source RAN, a PLMN ID which is the authorized PLMN of the UE from a PLMN list received from the UE;

sending, by the source RAN, a list of the filtered out PLMN ID and a CSG ID of a target cell to the CN;

according to information of the accessible CSGs of the UE, filtering out, by the CN, a PLMN ID in the PLMN IDs received from the source RAN, wherein the PLMN ID and the CSG ID are in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE;

sending, by the CN, the filtered out PLMN ID to the source RAN; and

selecting, by the RAN, the target PLMN ID for the UE from the received PLMN ID list.

9. The method of claim 6, wherein selecting, by the source RAN, the target PLMN for the UE comprises:

filtering out, by the source RAN, a PLMN ID which is the authorized PLMN of the UE from a PLMN list received from the UE;

sending, by the source RAN, a list of the filtered out PLMN ID and a CSG ID of a target cell to the CN;

according to information of the accessible CSGs of the UE, filtering out, by the CN, a PLMN ID in the PLMN IDs received from the source RAN, wherein the PLMN ID and the CSG ID are in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE;

sending, by the CN, the filtered out PLMN ID to the source RAN; and

selecting, by the RAN, the target PLMN ID for the UE from the received PLMN ID list.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein selecting, by the source RAN, the target PLMN for the UE comprises:

sending, by the CN, information of accessible CSGs of the UE to the RAN;

according to the CSG list received from the UE, filtering out, by the RAN, the authorized PLMN ID of the UE, and the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE; and

selecting, by the RAN, the PLMN ID for the UE from the filtered out PLMN IDs.

11. The method of claim 5, wherein selecting, by the source RAN, the target PLMN for the UE comprising:

sending, by the CN, information of accessible CSGs of the UE to the RAN;

according to the CSG list received from the UE, filtering out, by the RAN, the authorized PLMN ID of the UE, and the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE; and

selecting, by the RAN, the PLMN ID for the UE from the filtered out PLMN IDs.

12. The method of claim 6, wherein selecting, by the source RAN, the target PLMN for the UE comprises:

sending, by the CN, information of accessible CSGs of the UE to the RAN;

according to the CSG list received from the UE, filtering out, by the RAN, the authorized PLMN ID of the UE, and the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE; and

selecting, by the RAN, the PLMN ID for the UE from the filtered out PLMN IDs.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein selecting, by the source CN, the target PLMN for the UE comprises:

filtering out, by the source RAN, a list of the authorized PLMN IDs of the UE from the PLMN IDs received from the UE;

sending, by the source RAN, the filtered out PLMN ID list and a CSG ID of the target cell to the source CN of the CN; and

according to the information of the accessible CSGs of the UE, selecting, the source CN, the target PLMN ID from a list, the PLIMN IDs in the list being received from the source RAN, the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

14. The method of claim 5, wherein selecting, by the source CN, the target PLMN for the UE comprises:

filtering out, by the source RAN, a list of the authorized PLMN IDs of the UE from the PLMN IDs received from the UE;

sending, by the source RAN, the filtered out PLMN ID list and a CSG ID of the target cell to the source CN of the CN; and

according to the information of the accessible CSGs of the UE, selecting, the source CN, the target PLMN ID from a list, the PLIMN IDs in the list being received from the source RAN, the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

15. The method of claim 6, wherein selecting, by the source CN, the target PLMN for the UE comprises:

filtering out, by the source RAN, a list of the authorized PLMN IDs of the UE from the PLMN IDs received from the UE;

sending, by the source RAN, the filtered out PLMN ID list and a CSG ID of the target cell to the source CN of the CN; and

according to the information of the accessible CSGs of the UE, selecting, the source CN, the target PLMN ID from a list, the PLIMN IDs in the list being received from the source RAN, the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

16. A method for supporting a handover to a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell or a hybrid cell in a mobile communication system, comprising:

sending, by a radio access network (RAN), information indicating that authorized PLMN information changes to a user equipment (UE);

sending, by the UE, a list of public land mobile network (PLMN) identifiers (IDs) selected from the PLMN IDs broadcasted by a target CSG cell to a source RAN in a measurement report;

the PLMN ID in the list being an rPLMN or an ePLMN of the UE, and the PLMN ID and the CSG ID are in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE; and

selecting, by the source RAN, a target PLMN for the UE.

18. A mobile communication system, comprising:

a radio access network (RAN);

a user equipment (UE);

a source RAN; and

a source core network (CN),

wherein the RAN sends information indicating that authorized public land mobile network (PLMN) information changes to the UE,

wherein the UE sends all PLMN identifiers (IDs) broadcasted by a target closed subscriber group (CSG) cell to the source RAN in a measurement report, and

wherein the source RAN or a source CN selects a target PLMN for the UE.

19. The mobile communication system of claim 18, wherein the RAN sends the information indicating that the authorized PLMN information changes to the UE if authorized PLMN information received by the RAN from the CN changes.

20. The mobile communication system of claim 18, wherein, if the UE moves from a RAN1 to a RAN2, the RAN sends the information indicating that the authorized PLMN information changes in a connection mode to the RAN2.

21. The mobile communication system of claim 18, wherein, if the UE moves from a RAN1 to a RAN2, the CN sends the information indicating that the authorized PLMN information changes in a connection mode to the RAN2.

22. The mobile communication system of claim 20, wherein, if the UE moves from the RAN2 to a CSG cell or a hybrid cell, the RAN2 knows that the UE reports all PLMNs broadcasted by a target cell, and selects the PLMN for the UE or requests the source CN to select the PLMN for the UE.

23. The mobile communication system of claim 21, wherein, if the UE moves from theRAN2 to a CSG cell or a hybrid cell, the RAN2 knows that the UE reports all PLMNs broadcasted by a target cell, and

selects the PLMN for the UE or requests the source CN to select the PLMN for the UE.

24. The mobile communication system of claim 18, wherein the source RAN filters out a PLMN ID which is the authorized PLMN of the UE from a PLMN list received from the UE, and sends a list of the filtered out PLMN ID and a CSG ID of a target cell to the CN,

wherein the CN filters out a PLMN ID in the PLMN IDs received from the source RAN, and sends the filtered out PLMN ID to the source RAN,

wherein the RAN selects the target PLMN ID for the UE from the received PLMN ID list, and

wherein the PLMN ID and the CSG ID are in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

25. The mobile communication system of claim 22, wherein the source RAN filters out a PLMN ID which is the authorized PLMN of the UE from a PLMN list received from the UE, and sends a list of the filtered out PLMN ID and a CSG ID of a target cell to the CN,

wherein the CN filters out a PLMN ID in the PLMN IDs received from the source RAN according to information of the accessible CSGs of the UE, and sends the filtered out PLMN ID to the source RAN,

wherein the RAN selects the target PLMN ID for the UE from the received PLMN ID list, and

wherein the PLMN ID and the CSG ID are in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

26. The mobile communication system of claim 23, wherein the source RAN filters out a PLMN ID which is the authorized PLMN of the UE from a PLMN list received from the UE, and sends a list of the filtered out PLMN ID and a CSG ID of a target cell to the CN,

wherein the CN filters out a PLMN ID in the PLMN IDs received from the source RAN according to information of the accessible CSGs of the UE, and sends the filtered out PLMN ID to the source RAN,

wherein the RAN selects the target PLMN ID for the UE from the received PLMN ID list, and

wherein the PLMN ID and the CSG ID are in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

27. The mobile communication system of claim 18, wherein the CN sends information of accessible CSGs of the UE to the RAN, and

wherein the RAN filters out the authorized PLMN ID of the UE, and the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE according to the CSG list received from the UE, and selects the PLMN ID for the UE from the filtered out PLMN IDs.

28. The mobile communication system of claim 22, wherein the CN sends information of accessible CSGs of the UE to the RAN, and

wherein the RAN filters out the authorized PLMN ID of the UE, and the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE according to the CSG list received from the UE, and selects the PLMN ID for the UE from the filtered out PLMN IDs.

29. The mobile communication system of claim 23, wherein the CN sends information of accessible CSGs of the UE to the RAN, and

wherein the RAN filters out the authorized PLMN ID of the UE, and the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE according to the CSG list received from the UE, and selects the PLMN ID for the UE from the filtered out PLMN IDs.

30. The mobile communication system of claim 18, wherein the source RAN filters out a list of the authorized PLMN IDs of the UE from the PLMN IDs received from the UE and sends the filtered out PLMN ID list and a CSG ID of the target cell to the source CN of the CN, and

wherein the source CN selects the target PLMN ID from a list, the PLIMN IDs in the list being received from the source RAN, the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE according to the information of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

31. The mobile communication system of claim 22, wherein the source RAN filters out a list of the authorized PLMN IDs of the UE from the PLMN IDs received from the UE, and sends the filtered out PLMN ID list and a CSG ID of the target cell to the source CN of the CN, and

wherein the source CN selects the target PLMN ID from a list, the PLIMN IDs in the list being received from the source RAN, the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE according to the information of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

32. The mobile communication system of claim 23, wherein the source RAN filters out a list of the authorized PLMN IDs of the UE from the PLMN IDs received from the UE, and sends the filtered out PLMN ID list and a CSG ID of the target cell to the source CN of the CN, and

wherein the source CN selects the target PLMN ID from a list, the PLIMN IDs in the list being received from the source RAN, the PLMN ID and the CSG ID being in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE according to the information of the accessible CSGs of the UE.

33. A mobile communication system, comprising:

a radio access network (RAN) configured to send information indicating that authorized PLMN information changes to a user equipment (UE);

the UE configured to send a list of public land mobile network (PLMN) identifiers (IDs) selected from the PLMN IDs broadcasted by a target closed subscriber group (CSG) cell to a source RAN in a measurement report;

the PLMN ID in the list being an rPLMN or an ePLMN of the UE, and the PLMN ID and the CSG ID are in the list of the accessible CSGs of the UE; and

the source RAN configured to select a target PLMN for the UE.
